Only Mee Restaurant At Genting Highlands

Genting Highlands, where dreams come true, and food prices sky rocket. I was up there the other night with family, when we decided to have a supper of sorts, nothing too heavy.

Most of the shops inside First World Plaza, Genting highlands served heavy meals, so this particular diner attracted my attention. The tagline read "Freshly Made Noodles" while the restaurant name was called Only Mee, located within First World Plaza on the ground floor.

Well we ordered the wan tan mee, a bowl of soba udon soup, some bbq chicken rice with extra servings of bbq chicken, and a spaghetti dish. There were 8 of us in total, so you can roughly guess the number of servings. Anyway have a look below at some pictures I took of the food.

An extra order of BBQ Chicken - RM 9.5

What was my take on this late night meal? I find the taste really lacking, either the shop is closing soon and the food isn't fresh anymore, or the workers the restaurant hired did a poor job preparing the food. It tasted rather bland, I wouldn't say tasteless, but the taste just comes out funny. For example the wan tan mee tasted too sweet, and the BBQ chicken meat had chopped chilies added to it.

For the price we paid for, which amounted to RM138.15 for 8 people, I dare say I don't plan to have a meal here next time. There are a whole bunch of other better restaurants around. But if you do insist on trying the food here, by all means, do try it. During the day, behind the glass panes, you can see the chefs preparing the noodles (Hand made).

  10. That was the franchise that had an outlet along Bukit Bintang near the hotel where I was staying - closed down already and now, there's a Pappa Rich outlet in its place. Went once, not great and very expensive...so what more to say up there in Genting? Memang slaughter!

Nikel: Not just expensive, VERY expensive! LOL.

Reena: Hehe, there's always a next time. No worries.. But do try the other stalls. Haha.

STP: True, I like your words "went once, not great, and very expensive!" Hehe. But i think the person that prepares the food plays a big role. If they cincai do, then food also comes out cincai taste.

Wenn: It's normal already, but nowadays, if i'm at genting, I will sit the shuttle van down to mushroom farm chinese restaurant, the food there much nicer! and cheaper.

Eugene: They charge double or triple cause it's Genting Highlands. Excuse is it's so high, reminds me of the word "sohigh..*explicit*" You have a great weekend too bro!

Kian Fai: Hey thanks for visiting bro! Taste is ok, not that great. Nowadays if i'm at genting, I recommend the chinese restaurant down the road abit at mushroom farm. Delicious and cheap!

Merryn: Yup, I echo your statement. Very lousy, you should try the food at mushroom farm. Very tasty and not expensive!

The price increased. i just went there, one wantan mee cost RM15 not include drink. The drink is about RM6. The food is not only expensive, but there is another 10% service charge + 5% GST on top of that! The 10% service charges make me pissed off because i am the one who do all the ordering and serving! It's actually foodcourt style. I don't know where their "service" come from? ...Plus, the Fish ball noodle soap cost another RM13 but came only a few noodle...speechless...
