Tokyo Disneyland

I had the chance to visit Tokyo a few years back for a business trip, fully paid for by my previous company. What do you do when you're in Tokyo? Visit its attractions of course! And visit I did, one of them would be Tokyo Disneyland.

Don't mind me, I had these pictures in my PC hard drive for years, and since it's the weekends, I took the opportunity to share it here on my blog.

The tickets prices weren't very cheap

A brief background on this place, Tokyo Disneyland is a 115 acre theme park located in Urayasu, Chiba, Japan, near Tokyo. If compared with the other Disneylands in other countries, this one could rank one of the smaller Disneylands, but the fun and magic remains the same. It was the first Disney parks to be built outside of the United States and opened April 15th 1983.

I cannot remember exactly how much I paid to enter this place, but if I'm not wrong it was close to RM100, around there. I went with my colleagues early in the morning and could actually spend the whole day there. Disneyland may be very attractive to young kids, but personally in my opinion, as an adult, the excitement was just not that high.

The weekend crowd on that day was overwhelming, packed to the brim. If you don't believe me, just check out the number of baby trolleys parked outside every attraction below. Imagine the amount of babies in Tokyo Disneyland that day! I think if all started crying, my ears would have gone deaf.

One of the first monuments that greeted me when I entered was Mr Walt Disney's statue with Mickey mouse. A quick check on the internet gave me this fun fact. Did you know Walt Disney did not allow a statue of himself while he was alive? But now, we can remember him and his little buddy Mickey forevermore.

The place was seriously kid oriented with all the bright colored buildings, crazy wordings, heck even the food menu was spiced up to cater for every kid in us.

Overall, it was a fun visit, would be even better if I was 10 years old. Pretty good experience, if this was one of the smaller Disneylands, I can't wait to visit the other larger ones in the future. Have a look at more lovely pictures I've taken below.

Hehe, yes it does. They take great effort to paint and make sure the buildings are bright and lively!

  3. Lucky you! Very expensive to go to Japan and very expensive to visit Disneyland. I was there when it first opened - sometime in the 80s and spent the whole day there. So very nice, just the wonderful feeling in the air was enough... Loved it!

  8. Disneyland is a place for the old to become younger so you need not have to wish you are 10 years younger you already are younger by 20 haha. I was there on the 3rd day of opening but prefer the one in Anaheim cos medium of communication is English. Cannot understand a single Jap word except the repeated *kah-ing* during the river cruise. hehe Nice lovely pixz ~;).
