It's their first outlet ever, located in Plaza Arkadia, inside Desa Parkcity. Guess what we had? Read on then.

Bringing a new Japanese dining experience to customers in and around the surrounding of Desa Parkcity, it's interesting to note how Harumi 23 came about the name. Modern Tokyo Cuisine, creative Japanese desserts and third wave single origin coffee, these are some of the great things you can come to expect from Harumi 23. The number "23" represents 23 districts in Tokyo.

Hojo Premium Mountain Hojicha from Uji Sencha Jubuzan - RM11.90
Hojo Premium Mountain Hojicha from Uji Sencha Jubuzan - RM11.90

We kicked off our "feast" that afternoon with Harumi 23's Hojo Premium Mountain Hojicha from Uji Sencha Jubuzan. Be warned though, as it doesn't come with any sugar, you get the whole rich and authentic Japanese powdered green tea. The staff whisked it together rather forcefully to produce a bubbly, foamy drink.

For those like me who prefers their beverage sweet, can always go for their other drinks off the menu, from frappucinos, to ice blended drinks, yuzu freeze, fruit juices and milkshakes. I had a taste of the Yuzu Freeze, and my Matcha Latte. It was good.

Guests at Harumi 23 will love the diverse collection of signature dishes made fresh from the highest quality ingredients. Try out this delicious soup, made from prawns chicken and maitake mushrooms in superior clear dashi broth. It's poured out from a tea cup, and tasted rather exquisite. Lovely soup indeed. These authentic Japanese dashi soups are made by steeping  Kombu (kelp) and Katsuoboshi (dried bonito flakes) at a carefully controlled temperature to release the inherent delicious umami flavours in the ingredients)

Let The Sashimi Feast Begin!

We pride ourselves in only offering the best quality Japanese cuisine with the finest ingredients imported directly from Japan. For example, our Sashimi is air-flown from Tsukiji Market in Tokyo twice a week, and the rice that we use are high-grade Koshi Hikari rice, planted and important from Japan where we find the quality better compared to others and giving our dishes a more robust flavor.” , Ms Yeap Hong Lee, owner of Harumi 23 said.

We were fed with may different types of fish that afternoon, and it was all good. Served fresh, air flown from Tsukiji Market in Tokyo twice a week to Harumi 23, these are good stuff! On my platter, I dined on Salmon, Salmon Belly, Kampachi, Octopus and Tuna. Yums!

Bacon Delights!

Yakitori delights (Grilled Skewers), I'm in love with these porky dishes. Harumi 23 serves really awesome organic Japanese pork grilled on real charcoal on a traditional Japanese yakitori grill. Don't play play, I especially loved the Hotate Bacon (Charcoal Grilled Scallops Wrapped in Bacon) which was really juicy. Indulge too in the Butakushi (Charcoal Grilled Pork Belly and Asparagus with Salt) when you're dining at Harumi 23. You get to choose from chicken, duck, seafood, vegetables and more, other than pork.

Indulge yourself, order their Mentai King Prawn (with Half Broiled Cod Roe). Grilled prawns with mentai sauce, I can never say no to this. You know when the prawns are fresh when the flesh just falls off the shell the moment I cut into it. Superb!

Mentai Don - RM19

I won't hesitate to order the Mentai Don again the next time I'm dining here. It's really good, smooth almost melt in your mouth omelette doused in mentai cod fish roe on top a bowl of hot high-grade Koshi Hikari rice, planted and imported from Japan.

Salmon Mentaiko Spaghetti - RM36

Spaghetti lovers will do good to order the Salmon Mentaiko Spaghetti. Topped with salmon sashimi, cod roe, nori flakes and spring onions, I heard it was pretty good. I'm not a fan of japanese styled spaghetti though, but I did enjoy the salmon sashimi toppings :)

Overall, the food is really good, as can be seen by the sheer number of diners dining there on a weekend. The location of Harumi 23 Tokyo Cuisine is also pretty strategic inside Desa Parkcity.
