Now In Season Malaysia, Australian Fruits & Vegetables (April - June)

Lovely, currently from April till June 2017, Australian Fruits and Vegetables are in season, which means we can obtain the fresh, safe and premium quality products from the nearest Village Grocer now. Australian table grapes? Yes please! I was at an event held by Now in Season Malaysia over at Village Grocer's Cafe, Tropicana Avenue last weekend with the family, which was fun indeed!

The event was basically a kids event, where families were welcome to attend, with talks by the celebrity nutritionist mum, Indra Balaratnam on the best diet for the kid and how to keep them healthy. I arrived at Village Grocer's Cafe, Tropicana Avenue with family in tow. Both Martin and Karlson were just too happy to be there as they had these colouring sheets to draw with.

We were treated to lots of grapes, along with food made from Australian vegetables and more at the event. Did you know that the Australian fruit industry is renowned for its world-class safety standards and innovative traceability systems? This means everything can be tracked, from the moment it leaves the farm so that you can ensure quality fruits WILL arrive at your destination.

Celebrity nutritionist mum, Indra Balaratnam gave a talk at the event, with wonderful insights to all guests present on the importance of nutrients for the kids. She talked on the various food groups, and how to calculate them in the servings. We learnt lots from her talk which includes recipes sharing as well!

We did not just enjoy the table grapes, we had a light brunch after which consists of some delectable bite sized food made from Australian fruits and vegetables. In fact, I went home with a basket of Aussie grapes and vegetables which included asparagus, carrots, broccoli, onions and potatoes. Check out my super awesome basket below.

  1. I'm more into our bananas and papayas, not into others, not even our own tropical ones including the durian. Yucks! LOL!!!
