Oktoberfest, held annually in Munich, Bavaria, Germany, and in Malaysia too. With great beers, there must be good food too, and here at Brotzeit German Bier Bar & Restaurant, we were treated to some really good food. Brotzeit German Bier Bar & Restaurant introduced their huge Oktoberfest Platter to go with the signature Paulaner Beers from Germany.

Smoked Pork Loin Pizza

Kassler Flade - Smoked Pork Loin Pizza - RM39

Kickstart your meal with this really unique German dish, the Kassler Flade - Smoked Pork Loin Pizza. I for one did not know you could fit so many pieces of smoked pork loin on a pizza, but it's all good! The pizza has this really crunchy thin crust, with a tomato sauce base. On the top, we had generous amounts of thinly sliced smoked pork loin topped with olives and freshly grated horseradish, sprinkled with mozzarella cheese.

German Styled Meat Loaf

For only RM18, I really felt the German Styled Meat Loaf which was served next is a steal! Traditional homemade meatloaf, I love the flavour and taste of it. Good to be taken for breakfast, brunch, lunch or even throughout the day, the meatloaf is companied by bacon and fried eggs, with Asian styled salad and fries on the side. Good value for money here.

Mozzarella Pork Fillet - RM20

Served in almost the same style as the meat loaf dish, the Mozzarella Pork Fillet has more goodies on the plate. On the plate we have boiled Ham, Pork Fillet, Tomatoes and Mozzarella on a Sourdough Bread. A hearty meal on its own, or if you're a heavy eater then it can serve as a heavy appetiser.

Brotzeit Oktoberfest Platter

Ah, the main platter, one everyone was looking forward to finally arrived at our table, and my it's huge! Introducing the scrumptious giant Oktoberfest Platter, meant to be shared by 4 to 5 pax. Consisting of a huge Pork Knuckle, Garlic sausages, gypsy belly bacon, Mini Pork cheese sausage, Nurnberger Sausage, and Honey Glazed Lumberjack Steak, I was beside myself with excitement and couldn't wait to dig in!

The huge platter comes with Sauerkraut and potato salad. The many choices of pork sausages, meat, and steak definately calls for a glass of cold beer. These Germans really know how to enjoy their food. Best of all, we Malaysians can enjoy it here too at Brotzeit German Bier Bar & Restaurant.

I'm Satisfied

Apfelkuchle - Apple Fritters - RM26

We ended our really hearty Oktoberfest meal at Brotzeit German Bier Bar & Restaurant with dessert in the form of the specially crafted Apfelkuchle - Apple Fritters. It has a rather unique taste, with cinnamon sugar being dusted on to the apple fritters, going well with the Vanilla sauce served on the side. Good times.

The OktoberFest Celebration Bavarian Platter 2016 is available now, from from Sept 15 to Oct 31 2016 to be exact. So do drop by Brotzeit German Bier Bar & Restaurant at any of their outlets in Klang Valley. Celebrate OktoberFest 2016 here!

  2. As a non-drinker, I don't partake in Oktoberfest. However, I do love to indulge in some German cuisine during this time! It's not always easy to come across an authentic German meal, particularly in Ipoh, where I live.
