Jacob's Creek Heritage Wine Collection Wine Pairing Dinner @ Saujana Resort & Hotel

It was a night of harmonization between wine and cuisine, as I experienced last week at Jacob's Creek Heritage Wine Collection Wine Pairing Dinner. Held at the beautiful Saujana Resort & Hotel, we were introduced to an exceptional three-course wine pairing dinner with three of their finest.

The Heritage fine wine collection is distinctive for its individual personality style. Setting a benchmark in regional Australian wines of exceptional quality, each wine is named in honour of a special person or place in the proud winemaking history of Gramp & Sons. The fine wine collection consists of Reeves Point Chardonnay, Centenary Hill Shiraz, Steingarten Riesling and Johann Shiraz Cabernet.

We started off the night with some small bites outside while waiting for our tables to be prepared.

Guests were welcomed to an exceptional three-course wine pairing dinner in an intimate and candlelit setting that was prepared by the team at The Restaurant, The Club, Saujana Resort. Guests were able to enjoy the dining experience while being entertained by a live band performances.

We kicked off the night with some really nice noms, beginning with the Marble of Lobster and Tomato Confit, paired with Jacob's Creek Steingarten Riesling. The dish was made up of lobsters, avocado and grapefruit segments, and pomegranate truffle. Luxurious indeed. The Steingarten Riesling shows intense citrus floral aromas and flavours with dry mineral acidity, outstanding mid-palate structure and great length.

For fans of Chardonnay, the Reeves Point is a medium-bodied wine with flavours of lemon, ripe peach, and melon balance. It went exceptionally well with the subsequent dish, White Tomato - Smoked Rolled Quail in Young Coconut. Love the flavours from the coconut, enhanced by the wine.

My favourite for the night, a meaty delight in the form of the Grilled Black Angus Beef Tenderloin paired with Jacob's Creek Centenary Hill Shiraz. My first time tasting grilled beef tenderloin which was this tender and flavourful. For the Centenary Hill Shiraz, this fine wine has a rich berry flavours with intense plum and spice aromas. It has a heavier taste than the other wine offerings that night.

Perfectly done Pan-fried Blue Eye Cod Fish was another choice of mains, paired with Jacob's Creek Reeves Point Chardonnay. The delectable cod fish literally fell off the fork upon eating it, served with fern shoot, and seafood saffron veloute.

We ended our Jacob's Creek Heritage Wine Collection Wine Pairing Dinner with sweet dessert in the form of the Royale Chocolate Gateaux with Berries. Paired with the Johann Shiraz Cabernet wine, it was a perfect end to a very nice night out. The Johann Shiraz Cabernet is a wine that inundates the senses of complex, intertwined and intriguing with notes of liquorice, blackcurrent and oak.

The event meets captain of industries of premium and exclusive lifestyle brands such as BMW and Valiram whilst graced by celebrities - Wilson Tan, Nadine Ann Thomas, Raj Aria, Jeremy Teo and Yuri Wong. Not only that, the event enabled fellow guests to network and come together to learn as well as experience the heritage of Jacob’s Creek fine wine.
