Hitachi Automotive Battery - MFX Series With 2 Years Warranty

Car automotive batteries have been a concern among drivers in recent years. With the introduction and mass use of the maintenance-free batteries, most drivers won't know their car batteries have run out of juice until the last minute. Hence the need for a more reliable battery as well as jump start cables.

Recently, I helped my friend jump start her car, and in tandem with that I advised her to go for the latest Hitachi Automotive MFX Battery as it is one of the very few batteries in the market offering up to 2 years of warranty aka peace of mind. The Hitachi MFX battery also has a battery condition indicator on the lid to make it super easy for motorists to determine its condition. This makes the Hitachi MFX battery especially good for lady drivers as they don’t have to worry about their cars breaking down at odd hours or in the middle of nowhere.

Hitachi automotive batteries have been launched recently, offering motorists a two-year warranty which makes it one of, if not the longest coverage to be extended in Malaysia. The two year warranty is for its top end MFX series. Fully imported, these nifty yet powerful batteries are distributed in Malaysia including Sabah and Sarawak by Borneo Technical Co (M) Sdn Bhd ( Borneo Technical), a member of the Toyota Tsusho Group.

That day itself, my friend and I decided to head to the nearest battery shop in Shah Alam, to get her car fixed with the latest Hitachi Automotive Battery, the MFX series to be exact. Her Wira was in dire need of a new battery, so much so that the car died the moment it reached the workshop, using up the final juices from its current battery.

Now one of the reasons I've decided to give the all-new Hitachi Automotive MFX Battery a go was for the long 2 year warranty. But that's not the only factor, as I took into account the other strong advantages that the battery has versus other competing brands. 100% fully imported into Malaysia, these batteries are built and finished by Hitachi's dedicated manufacturing facility in Thailand and Japan to supply to the regional automobile market.

Check out some of the 7 key benefits which I found to be totally relevant and helpful in my choice of going for the Hitachi MFX Series Automotive Battery.

1. Global brand and OEM experience

Hitachi is a renowned global brand and they are known to have valuable experience as an OEM supplier. Reliability and quality control is part of Hitachi’s exacting global standards.

2. 100% Japanese technology

The Hitachi car battery is backed by technology that has been trusted and proven through decades of in-house R & D, innovative manufacturing processes and unbeatable product reliability plus value for money.

3. Extended warranty

This provides reliable and worry-free ownership, not forgetting that the battery is totally maintenance-free as well; owners get a 2 year warranty [or 40,000 kilometre] period for the Hitachi MFX battery range!

4. Double-sealed lid

The double-sealed lid is designed to provide superior sealing for near zero water/electrolyte leakage. The engineered under-lid reflex structure ensures ultra-low water loss via evaporation. Now this is one feature which got my attention, as I noticed it was indeed very tightly sealed up.

5. Expanded grids

The expanded grids are employed to greatly extend the lifespan over conventional batteries. This is because the expanded grids are able to disrupt the progressive corrosion caused by acid.

6. Cut corner plates

These are utilised to successfully prevent short circuit because shorting occurs often when the conventional plates expand.

7. Maintenance Free Car battery

Maintenance free properties are optimized by Pb-Ca alloy - exclusively designed for tropical use in South East Asia. The actual water loss is reduced by nearly 25% over conventional dry charged batteries.

The range of Hitachi car batteries is available at more than 5,000 dealers nationwide including Sabah and Sarawak. The MFX series is priced from RM350 onwards per unit while the lower ranged ES series starts from RM250. If you take in the fact that they give 2 years warranty while other brands only give 1 year warranty for their automotive batteries, then the pricing becomes real value for money.

  2. Never heard bout the brand until I read bout your post here. It's nice to share something new every now and then. What bout yourself? The extended warranty seems like a good assurance for one to try something new. The price seems to be on par though, not exactly a deal breaker.

  5. Actually 2 years at RM 250 is good price but when your battery break down on the 12 months...they are not replacing you a new battery la..but give you back like RM 125 and ask you to purchase again a new battery and condition take your old battery and claim 100% replacement from BORNEO...if you buy a battery with 12 months warranty and the battery "kong" on the 10 months, they will replace a new battery to you lor..and workshop will claim this battery 100% from manufacturer...Any product i think ooo, if last for one year then use for one year, when battery is weak, they will also affect your other electrical parts like alternator, starter and other components as the current distribution is balance when the battery is weak,,,of course it can start la...that is why when you service your battery with TOYOTA they ask you to replace when it is one year no matter the battery is still in good condition or not...
