Another nice food spot, this time at Bandar Puteri Puchong, Momento 7 serving some good fusion japanese cuisine. Serving mainly western food previously, Momento 7 now has a brand new concept in their menu. For those who would really enjoy a hearty warm meal of steamy hot rice and porky goodness, you will definitely fall in love over again with Momento 7. I had the chance to savor their fares a couple of weeks back courtesy of FoodInk Malaysia, and my, it was good.

Comfy decor of Momento 7
Momento 7 has just recently launched their new menu which now comprises mainly on Japanese cuisine served with rice. With the new partner coming in with much Japanese culinary experience, Momento 7 now serve some very down-to-earth dish, Katsudon. Katsudon is a popular food in Japan, it is a bowl of rice topped with deep fried meat cutlet, egg and condiment. It is filling and very tasty at the same time. Good to the tummy, warmth to the heart.
The rather cute thingy given by FoodInk
The owner of the Momento 7 was very willing to share the story behind the change of the menu. Even though food was good previously, western cuisine can hardly accommodate the crowd in the neighborhood who opted for rice instead of pasta. After a few months in the industry, by force they had to change the whole menu regardless of the kitchen appliances and food ingredient waste. Kitchen crew has to start everything from scratch in order to perfect the skill of the artful Japanese cuisine. Check out some of the dishes we had that afternoon.
Mix Katsu Bento - RM15
Fish Katsu Bento - RM15
The Fish Katsu Bento consists of deep fried fish fillet, marinated baby octopus, pickles, greens, homemade potato salad and white rice served in a bento box with miso soup at the side. I find the katsu bento sets from Momento 7 to be very well prepared, enough to fill any tummy at a rather reasonable price.
Rosu Katsu Bento (Pork) - RM15.00
With their signature katsu pork, we have the Rosu Katsu Bento (Pork) which consists of deep fried pork fillet, marinated baby octopus, pickles, greens, homemade potato salad and white rice served in a bento box with miso soup at the side.
Katsu Curry Rice - RM16.50
Different variants of the pork cutlets were served, with the Katsu Curry Rice shown above. Breaded pork with curry gravy, served with rice, this dish can serve as a meal on its own. I do like the japanese curry flavour, albeit it did not have any spicy flavour inside.
Buta Shogayah Set - RM26.50
One of my favourite dish at Momento 7, other than the deep fried katsu dishes, is the Buta Shogayah Set. With meat served on a sizzling pan, this dish reminded me of that chinese dish which I love. The pork is stir fried with ginger to give out that fragrant flavour, very tasty, perfect to be taken with the accompanying rice.
Cheese Rolls - RM16.50
Hire & Ebi Katsu set - RM26.50
Cheese Katsu - RM16.50
Lots of deep fried stuff came next, the Cheese roll, cheese katsu, and Hire & Ebi Katsu set. Breaded pork fillet and breaded shrimp served with white rice, salad pickles, miso soup and special sesame sauce, do try out the Hire & Ebi Katsu set if you want some variety which includes shrimp. The cheese roll and cheese katsu are essentially the same, with generous amounts of cheese inside. This however made the dish a tad too salty.
Kamo Nanban Udon - RM13
An udon dish with a twist. Instead of your usual pork or chicken, we have these yummy smoked duck thrown into the mix. The Kamo Nanban Udon dish consists of delectable smoked duck, going well with the flavourful soup and thick udon.
Katsu Don - RM15.50
If you like your rice freshly steamed with breaded pork served on top, and half cooked egg together with miso soup at the side, do try out Momento 7's Katsu Don. Simple, yet delicious, I really like the egg which went well with the soft steamed rice.
Kushi - RM1.50 - RM6 depending on what we choose to deep fry

From what I learnt, the folks behind Momento 7 is determined to make it in the F&B industry, where new dishes are introduced, ensuring the menu stays updated and fresh to cater for their customers. A big thumbs up to their efforts, and it was a good meal out at their place the other day. Do drop by Momento 7 at Bandar Puteri Puchong the next time you're in the vicinity.
