Beginning from 28th June to 27th July 2014, the hotel's culinary team of 13 chefs will present over 300 authentic and rare local delights such as Lawa Roasted Beef Salad, Fish Head Curry, Rendang Tok, Ikan Bakar Melaka, Whole Roasted Lamb Malay Style, Serawa Durian and Pulut, Kerabu Gamat and Apam Balik, just to name a few.

The culinary team, under the direction of Chef Ridzuan Malek, the Executive Chef backed with over 20 uears of experience in renowned hotels, has whipped up a buffet spread that boasts a plethora of local specialties authentically presented in 'kampung-style' stalls and live cooking stations.

Renowned for serving one of the best Iftar buffets in the state, Paya Serai Restaurant is ready to greet this year's Ramadhan with aromatic and tantalizing Malaysian favourites consisting of platters of food originating from Malacca, Penang, Perak, Kedah and Johor to name a few. The team of chefs with their specific specialties will bring you through this journey of flavours with its varying signature dishes designed to appeal to the most discerning of tastes.

"This year, we greatly emphasize on food authenticity in our buffet preparation," said Chef Ridzuan. "Paya Serai Restaurant has always been recognized for its magnificent spread and this year, we are bringing the dining experience to a whole new level with over 300 varieties of 'Buka Puasa' dishes. Other than that, we are also preparing a full buffet setup for Ramadhan Sahur, which will be available from 3am to 5am, serving healthy salads, pastries, cereal as well as local dishes," he continued.

Other than that, diners will also enjoy a unique dessert experience at Hilton Petaling jaya's outdoor Durian Orchard Station. Durians will be served at the hotel's porte-cohere area every night throughout the fasting month, where the fruit is opened fresh on the spot. In keeping with the local tradition, a water station is available as well, to fill your empty durian shells and take a few sips after the feast!

To add to the Ramadhan 'Buka Puasa' festivities, patrons will be entertained by an enchanting stroller performance of a local traditional music group from Bale Bale Entertainment. Pretty nice setup, where we could eat while enjoy the soothing music.

The Ramadhan Buffet promotion runs from 7pm to 10pm daily and is priced at RM119++ per adult, for the first three days (28-30 June) and the last five days (23-27 July) of the fasting month. For the following days (1-22nd July), the buffet promotion is priced at RM139++ per adult and RM79++ per child.

  3. The chefs will be running a marathon of cooking when it comes to rare dishes. I think that will be a treat for people who are accustomed to regional food and individuals who are trying those dishes for the first time.
