Mama Mia Pizza @ Chatz Brasserie Parkroyal Kuala Lumpur

So there I was a couple of weeks back at Chatz Brasserie Parkroyal Kuala Lumpur to try out their on-going 'Mama Mia Pizza' which allows diners to customize their very own pizza. Interesting dinner, with interesting people there as well. The on-going weekly affair every Thursday allows one complimentary take-home pizza as well. Read on for more on the promo.

There were so many different types of toppings to choose from

It was indeed an interesting experience, being able to choose from the vast choices of topping and sauces to customize our own pizza. We were able to add flavour to our dough with a choice of tomato coulis, cream sauce, peanut sauce, tabasco sauce or pesto. The topping choices however were much more varied from seafood, to vegetables and chilli flakes. Just for your information, I'll be listing it down further on below.

The order chit was simple enough, a piece of paper where we could check and tick our preference. What intrigued me was the fact that I could tick off every choice in the piece of paper, and the chef will proceed to make my pizza with each and every ingredient ticked off. That's pretty heavy stuff.

From the sea, seafood lovers may choose toppings such as prawn, squid, smoked salmon, mussel, crab, and tuna. If you're a meat lover like me, then go for the choices such as pepperoni, meatloaf, chicken stripes, sliced beef, chicken satay and egg. Yes, they have these pieces of boiled egg thrown onto your pizza.

Cheese lovers will be glad that Chatz Brasserie has a selection that includes mozzarella, parmesan, cheddar, gouda, and blue cheese. Coupled with onions, capsicum, mushroom, eggplant, cherry tomato, boiled potato, gherkin and olive, we were literally spoilt for choice that night. The chef was kept perpetually busy the whole night from our non-stop orders. Yes, you can order unlimited 8 inch pizzas per sitting.

All the cooking, and baking can be viewed as it is made in front of our eyes through an open kitchen concept. It was pretty cool to be able to see for ourself how each pizza is baked to perfection. Interestingly, on some days, we get to choose fruit toppings as well, making our own fruit pizzas from papaya, honeydew, raspberry, mulberry, strawberry and cherry.

Fruit pizza anyone?

Sauces such as vanilla, custard and cream cheese can be chosen to be the perfect base for our pizza, complete with a sprinkle of icing sugar and cinnamon powder before it goes into the oven. Janice was pretty delighted with the fruit choice, as she does love her fruits.

'Mama Mia Pizza' is available on every Thursday, from 6pm to 10pm, priced at RM49 nett inclusive of their Salad bar and soup. To further quench your thirst, you could add on RM3 nett for free flow of soft drinks, RM10 nett for a glass of draft beer, or RM35 nett for a jug of draft beer. If that isn't enough, after having all that non-stop flow of pizza, on your way home, you can take home a pizza of your choice too, compliments from Chatz Brasserie.
