Tamsui Lover Bridge Taiwan

A couple of weeks back I was in Taiwan, and this Tamsui Lover Bridge over in Tamsui district in Taiper Taiwan was one of the attraction spots we went to. Located on the western tip of Tamsui district, this place is called the Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf and is accessible by bus. To reach the place, one only had to take the Taipei Metro (MRT) Tamsui Line to Tamsui Station, and then transfer to Bus Red-26, 836, or 837.

"The Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf is well-known by its beautiful sunset and fresh seafood. While having sightseeing and leisure facilities, it still holds its functionality as a harbor for fishing boats."

"Lover Bridge of Tamsui, a white-colored Cable-stayed bridge, derived its name since it was started on February 14, 2003, Valentine's Day. You may appreciate the sunset from the bridge. The total length is approximately 196 meters and the walk across takes approximately 3 minutes"

I was told Tamsui Lover Bridge was a must go place if one were to visit Taiwan and even the locals go to this place to capture their wedding photographs. Imagine my delight when I caught a couple having their photographs taken on the night we were there. I was quite surprised though that the session was taken at night, it was probably to capture the bridge's vibrant colours.

So there we were enjoying the night scene along with a dozen other couples both locals and tourists. We were able to appreciate the bridge along with a fleet of fishing boats anchored at Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf. The atmosphere was rather nice especially with the sea wind blowing in to mess up our hairs. Several stalls selling various food and items were seen along the sea front.

Located at Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf, besides the Lover Bridge, we were able to get a ride up the Lover's Tower via its revolving platform. At a charge of TWD 160 (roughly RM16.50), we were able to sit up to the top of the tower catching a bird's eye view of the whole area.

After exploring and enjoying the scenic night scene of the Tamsui Lover Bridge, I understand why folks say this is one of the must go spots in Taiwan. It was really a romantic spot to be at, and to enjoy an evening there with our loved ones, priceless.
