Be Lohas Healthy Cuisine by BMS Organics @ 1 Utama Shopping Centre

Fancy some healthy organic food? Then you must try out Be Lohas Healthy Cuisine by BMS Organics. I was there last week with the family to try out their fares, and I must say, it didn't taste too bad. I was initially rather apprehensive, as I am more of a meat person, but they did surprise with excellent food. Check out what we had that evening below.

It was my first time dining at Be Lohas Healthy Cuisine restaurant, even though I've seen the eatery, which consists of a dining area as well as BMS Organics which sells retail items. I'm intrigued by their posters which promote healthy organic vegetarian cuisine. I'm a meat lover, but I do appreciate the value of going green, and having some nice vegetarian cuisine.

BMS Organics started to promote healthy organic vegetarian food products since 1997 via retail. Located at Bandar Puteri Puchong, the first Be Lohas Healthy Vegetarian Cuisine organic cafe was founded in 2007 when they decided to establish a cafe where customers could easily enjoy genuine healthy vegetarian food"

LOHAS stands for ‘Lifestyle of Health and Sustainability’ which means living a lifestyle that is healthy and environmentally friendly. The cafe’s name has been cleverly translated to ‘Le Huo’ in Chinese which means living happily.”

It was interesting, and very thoughtful of them to provide the very healthy Organic Spirulina Pills that's filled with 108 nutrients and Lemon Grass Ginger Tea all complimentary to kick start our palette for the mains that we ordered. I used to take spirulina back in the days, and I must say, I should really get back into the habit of consuming this very healthy product.

It isn't my first time trying this dish (Five Colours Energy Chinese Ulam Rice -Hakka Lei Cha) though, as I've had it before at Big Big Bowl Cafe a while back. Upon mixing the ingredients with the Lei Cha (pounded tea soup), I would say it tasted really good, with the correct amount of crunchiness from the nuts. The Lei Cha tasted home-made, and really unique to say the least.

Traditional Chinese Herbal Soup with Rice - RM20.90

Almost akin to the meat 'Bak Kut Teh' version, this Traditional Chinese Herbal Soup with Rice doesn't have any meat at all, made primarily from soy products with that distinctive chinese herbal soup flavour. All of us that night did enjoy this dish, which sort of made us forget we're in an organic vegetarian restaurant. Flavourful and savoury, we literally finished off the whole bowl, leaving nothing behind.

Soya Milk Curry Claypot with Rice - RM21.90

We ordered the Soya Milk Curry Claypot with Rice next, a relatively 'safe' dish. Served piping hot in a claypot, the smell hit our nose even before we got on to taste it, and my it did taste good. The soya milk curry took on a very nice 'santan'-ish flavour, which went very well with the rice. The rice came with alfafa sprouts on top, plus points for being very healthy. The chef used organic soya milk instead of coconut milk which tasted great. Another dish which we finished off till the last drop of curry.

Spreading the message of healthy living required determination and persistence, Be Lohas will continue to uphold the initial commitment to promote genuine healthy vegetarian cuisine and promise their customers only the best, deliciously healthy organic vegetarian dishes. Do check out their outlets all across the Klang Valley should you be in the mood for healthy organic vegetarian food.
