Nana's Green Tea First Modular Shop @ Midvalley Megamall Serving New Tatedora

Now I was at their launch for Nana's Green Tea's outlet in One Utama Shopping Mall, and ever since then I've been a big fan of their green tea on top of their various food on the menu. This time around Nana’s Green Tea, a pioneer matcha brand from Japan, opened its 3rd shop in Malaysia on 1st April 2015 on the 3rd floor Mezzanine South, Mid Valley Megamall. This is Nana’s 1st modular format shop that caters for customer who’s on-the-go.

Not to be confused with their other outlet in The Gardens Mall, as well as the one in One Utama, this one serves their drinks and ice cream on the go. The design concept for this modular format shop is with raw finish cement wall and chatsuru design motif in its signature black colour.

Customers will be able to choose items from menu which is displayed on 3 units of 50 inch TVs. Thereafter, they may place their orders from the cashier counter and proceed to the pick-up line to pick up their orders. Do note they only serve their drinks and ice cream here, without the usual food items. On the menu is also their new and latest Tatedora, served only at the Midvalley Megamall outlet.

Tatedora (RM4.80) is a freshly baked dorayaki that is folded with bean paste (red bean paste, sesame paste, chocolate paste and lemon paste) and toppings (additional RM1.20) like fresh strawberry, gyuhi (Japanese rice cake) or salted butter. It is made upon customer order using a special semi-automated machine that is imported from Japan. The folded Tatedora did remind me somewhat of an oversized Doraemon's pancake.

For first timers, if you are unsure of which flavour to go for, do try out my favourite, the Red Bean Paste Tatedora with Salted Butter. Love how the butter brings out the savoury flavour of the sweet delicacy. If you are a fan of black sesame, then try out their Sesame Paste with Gyuhi flavoured Tatedora. I like the chewy texture of gyuhi that made with premium rice flour, something similar like Japanese mochi. Don’t miss out the Chocolate Paste with Fresh Strawberry too, refreshing sweet sourish strawberry goes really well with the chocolate.

Besides Tatedora, customers can also order Nana’s signature matcha drinks and desserts. There is a small seating area for customers who wish to dine in comfortably. I took the overly huge Matcha Green Tea Soft Ice Cream which really took an effort to finish it in one sitting. Do check them out, Nana's Green Tea First Modular Shop at Midvalley Megamall, located nearby the cinema.

  1. I wish I had that to make perfect pancakes, all same size and round...unlike mine. :( But I guess it's the taste that matters, right or not?
