Being a parent of two, I understand the needs of a child in terms of getting the best nutrition out there in order to grow healthy and strong. Both Baby Martin and Baby Karlson is now two years and 8 months of age respectively. Now, I'm pretty excited when being told Dutch Lady is coming up with an informative and fun workshop where we will get to hear from experts to better understand our child’s mental development and how to optimize it with the right nutrition.

Do you know that it is important to tailor your child’s nutrition?
– According to SEANUTS or Southeast Asian Nutrition Surveys, nutrition has an impact on a child’s smartness of IQ.
– As children develop mentally in stages, it is important for parents to monitor their developmental milestones and help them grow better and smarter by providing the appropriate nutrients at each stage
Personally I feel nutrition plays a very important role in my children's diet, as without that correct formula in their system, they might not grow as healthy as I might want them to, or horrors, be slower than other kids their age. Okay, I may be slightly exaggerating there, because a child's development does vary from one kid to the other.

Parents are responsible for their children’s health and development. But without the right tools and resources, they may not know how to fully optimise and monitor their child’s development milestones.
To empower parents, Dutch Lady Malaysia is organising a workshop – Smart Steps: Uncover the Power of Nutrition to Your Child’s Development – on 24 January 2015. Heading the workshop are Dr. Alvin Ng Lai Oon from Sunway University’s Department of Psychology; Professor Dr. Poh Bee Koon, Head of Nutritional Sciences Programme at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia; and Dr. Yong Junina Fadzil, Consultant Paediatrician.
