BenQ has come out with a wide variety of products recently. I reviewed the BenQ T3 smartphone the other day, so it's a good opportunity that I was invited for the BenQ W1070+ And W1080ST+ Home Video Projectors tour. Internationally renowned provider of digital lifestyle and global DLP® projector leader, BenQ introduced today two new additions to its home video projector lineup. Check out a rundown on my experience with these cool projectors at the event below.

Arriving at the venue, we were greeted by the good folks from BenQ, where we were introduced to both the BenQ W1070+ and W1080ST+ home video projectors. It was going to be a hands on, live viewing experience of the capabilities of these two projectors. The event kicked off with the product introduction by Grace Yang, Product Marketing Manager of BenQ Asia Pacific Corporation, Chaw Foo Hong, General Manager of BenQ Malaysia and Eason Lu, Product Marketing Manager, BenQ Asia Pacific Corporation.

Connectivity is not a problem, where MHL enables connectivity to smart device via MHL cable or 3rd party MHL dongle. We are able toaccess playback functions on mobile device, using the projector's remote control

For the most captivating cinematic experience, BenQ has infused the W1070+ and W1080ST+ with “Cinema Color Reality” picture performance. The most authentic, lifelike colors are rendered by a simulated REC. 709 gamut and the enhancement of a six-times speed, six-segment RGBRGB color wheel and BrilliantColor™ technology. No details will escape your eyes in the deepest, truest black with high native contrast that is enhanced by high 2200 ANSI lumen brightness, DLP DarkChip3TM and DMD.

Both the W1070+ and the W1080ST+ are built to support 3D Full HD projection to fully immerse you in the joy of home entertainment fun. What got me very interested in these new projectors from BenQ were the fact that to project up to 100 inches of full HD goodness, we do not have to sit too far back. With a short throw of 100-inch @ 1.5m, these enables us to enjoy the projectors even in smaller living rooms. 

The W1080ST+ is built with BenQ’s world-leading short-throw technology to deliver 100” of cinematic enjoyment in a mere distance of 1.5 meters, while the W1070+ projects a 100” big picture in 2.5 meters. Equipped with short-throw projection capability, the W1080ST+ makes an ideal choice for small spaces and motion-gesture gaming as it can be placed closer to the screen to avoid shadow disruptions.

The projector itself does not need to be placed head on to the screen, as the side projection features allows the projector to be placed even on the side of the wall/projection surface, at an angle (up to 30-degrees). Both the W1070+ and the W1080ST+ are equipped with side projection capability to support off-center projector placement. This allows the projector to be flexible placed on a side table instead of on the coffee table, which might be used for popcorns and drinks

Besides the superior visual performance, the new home video projectors are built with a 10W resonant chamber speaker that is expertly tuned to immerse you in your favorite movie, video or music with crisp-clear audio quality and deeper base tones. There are also four preset sound modes and an equalizer setting available to optimize any music you choose for the most optimal audio enjoyment.

 "Turning your home into a cinema." This is exactly what BenQ plans to do, where we can replace our LCD TVs with a home video projector which can give us up to 300-inches of viewing size.
