TGI Fridays @ Queensbay Mall Penang

It's not every day that I dine at TGI Fridays, but when presented with the opportunity to bring my family over for a good afternoon meal over at TGI Fridays Queensbay Mall Penang, I took it up. I was back in Penang recently, where we had a nice meal out, so do check out my review of the dishes I had below.

#1 Cajun Shrimp & Chicken Pasta - RM32.90

We ordered the Cajun Shrimp & Chicken Pasta as it had both seafood and chicken meat inside, catering to everyone's taste. The dish itself came in a rather appetizing presentation, with juicy shrimp and chicken perfectly seasoned and sauteed with green and red bell peppers. The spaghetti is then tossed with fettuccine, diced tomatoes and the rather creamy Cajun Alfredo Sauce. It had a cheesy, creamy, savoury flavour, and everyone loved it. 

#2 Stuffed Mushrooms - RM13.90

Frankly speaking, when I ordered their Stuffed Mushrooms off the menu, I expected fried mushrooms forgetting that it's stuffed mushrooms and not fried. Hence when this dish arrived, it looked way different from my expectation. Nevertheless, the freshly baked mushroom caps stuffed with fresh Mozzarella cheese and savoury ground beef was a refreshing change. Served with warm bruschetta marinara sauce. The taste was a unique twist of meat, cheese, and mushroom, coming off being rather too exotic for me. 

#3 Fish and Chips - RM29.90

My friends always question me on my Fish and Chips choice, and yet I still order it, every single time. Maybe it's that traditionally deep fried batter taste that I like, or the non-fishy taste of the fish, but I do like the Fish and Chips from TGI Fridays. Served on a platter with generous servings of fish fillet and fries, I always ask for that extra mayonnaise to go with the fish. Yummy. 

#4 Tennessee Chicken & Shrimp - RM41.90

Another chicken and shrimp combination dish, the Tennessee Chicken & Shrimp dish that we ordered came looking very nice, served on a sizzling hot plate. We had these juicy fire-grilled chicken breasts drizzled with their famous Tennessee sauce and crispy Cajun-spiced fried shrimp on the side. Another well recommended dish, as they put plenty of my favourite Cheddar cheese which are melted down unto the hot plate. 

#5 Fridays Sundae - RM15.90

I am so predictable, at least that's what Janice would have said, when I ordered the Fridays Sundae, my favourite dessert at TGI Fridays. I must say the extra large cup filled to the brim with Vanilla ice cream topped with hot fudge, caramel sauce, nuts and whipped cream will make anyone's day. We did not give much to Baby Martin though, as we did not want to spoil him with sweet stuff.

Overall, it was a good family meal out in Penang. A change somewhat from our usual chinese local cuisine which we usually have. It is however, always nice to dine at TGI Fridays as I have my staple dishes which I will always order whenever I'm there. Do check them out should you be in the vicinity, shopping at Queensbay Mall.
