All-in-one printers in this day and age are all the rage, with recent models getting sleeker and cooler with truckloads of features thrown in with high gloss exterior. Just recently I had the opportunity to bring home the latest offering from HP, the HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 4515 e-All-in-One Printer. This post shall serve as a short review writeup on my unit.

Coming in a rather nice package, utilizing the black and red theme, the HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 4515 eAIO printer is made specifically to take advantage of its various connectivity options to function as a smartphone and tablet printer. Another reason why it has the Ink Advantage stamp to it is due to its capability of printing up to 480 pages at a low cost.

The package ready to be unwrapped for first time usage
At 5.56kg, the product is rather heavy, but the matte black lid combined with the glossy front panel and well designed paper-feed more than make up for it. The printer itself is really beautiful, whether the lid is closed, or open. Even with the paper-feed pulled out, it still managed to look good.
Unboxed and all ready to go
With a processor speed of 500MHz, the HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 4515 printer is quite capable of handling multi-tasking activities and anything thrown at it. Featuring a flat-bed scanner, with a maximum size of 216 x 297 mm, scanning and copying your documents or pictures becomes child's play.
Looking good even with the lid opened up to utilize it's scanning and copying function
Copying is the easiest to do and for two-sided documents, the HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 4515 interface lets you tick the 2-sided option on its touchscreen and it will prompt you to flip over when the first side is ready. Using default setting, copies of black text documents look decent enough.
The well-designed paper feed
If I didn't try tugging at the paper feed section, I would not even have known there is a retractable paper feed located below the front of the HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 4515 printer. It is so well designed that when not in use, you can just slot it back into its space at the front, and nobody would even notice it there.
The SD Memory card slot
The HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 4515 comes with a Secure Digital (SD) memory card slot, for when you want to do an immediate photo transfer from your camera's SD card. Of course, an even easier method would be via the wifi environment. It was quite easy to locate the machine wirelessly using Android or iOS device and only minutes passed before it delivered the first few printouts. Printing images captured on smartphones and tablet are very convenient using this setup.
Flip open the printer and you have the slots to insert your ink cartridges
Simple brightly coloured space to insert your ink cartridge without problems
In terms of printing capability, the HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 4515 uses HP Thermal Inkjet technology and mechanisms that are able to achieve 21 pages per minute speed for printing in black in Draft mode. For users who also need a printer for producing formal documents, this machine is also able to print sharper in laser comparable mode though the printing speed drops to 8.8 ppm.
View photos, edit, and print quickly from the 2.65-inch (6.7 cm) colour touchscreen
With an in-built colour touchscreen display of 2.65 inch, it is really easy and intuitive to run through the menu and commands to print our photos out. Overall, I would say this printer has both the looks and performance capabilities to put a smile to anyone's face, or at least to me.
My last printer was an outdated 15 year old printer, and the HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 4515 e-All-in-One Printer left a big impact on my perception of printers in this new age and times. Retailing at RM469, do check out this printer if you're looking for a capable wifi enabled all in one printer. Do check out HP's facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/HPmalaysia
