Ipoh’s Newest Landmark - OldTown Heritage Centre  When was the last time you’ve been to Ipoh? Now I’ve always found it refreshing to do a 1 day trip to Ipoh to enjoy the sights and sounds as well as to explore the good food the town has to offer.  Did you know the largest halal-certified kopitiam chain in Malaysia, OldTown White Coffee recently celebrated the opening of its new Heritage Centre in Ipoh ? It’s a fanfare of arts and cultural showcases, commemorating its Artists Heritage Collaboration Project. Read on below.  Ipoh’s Newest Landmark - OldTown Heritage Centre

My local adventures brought me to Ipoh the other day for a staycation over at WEIL Ipoh. Since I was already staying over at the hotel, I took the chance to taste some of the local delicacies at their  Citarasa Utara Ramadan Buffet. Held in the hotel, at their restaurant TIFFIN, the Ramadan buffet will run from 7 June to 4 July 2016. My writeup on the hotel room and facilities will be in my subsequent writeup, but for now, enjoy the feast for your eyes, and our tummy, below.  Citarasa Utara Ramadan Buffet @ TIFFIN, WEIL Hotel, Ipoh

Tiger Beer's Tiger Bites Campaign: Do You Know Your Street Food?

Image
A rather late post, but better late than never right. A couple of months back, I had the opportunity to join an 18-car convoy on a two-day street food trail to Ipoh and Penang for an unconventional gastronomic experience organized by Tiger Beer (#TigerBites) . Check out the 'makan' spots we have ventured to, and food that will make you salivate.  Tiger Beer's Tiger Bites Campaign: Do You Know Your Street Food?

Nam Heong Food Court @ Ipoh SoHo

Image
It was a fun trip up north the other day with a bunch of foodies and friends as we all packed into a Hyundai Starex and drove all the way to Nam Heong Food Court in Ipoh SoHo . Now Nam Heong has been a rather well known name, but I was totally awed by their new outlet. Housed in the same building and management as iMiirage, we were all set to nom into their fares the moment we reached Ipoh. Nam Heong Food Court @ Ipoh SoHo

Lum Sek Lee Traditional Chinese Sausage From Ipoh

Image
Have you had the usual Claypot Rice before? Well, the one thing I like about the dish would be the generous amounts of meat and of course the chinese sausages contained inside. Last weekend, Janice decided to whip up her variation of claypot rice using the rice cooker, and using some of the Lum Sek Lee Traditional Chinese Sausages given to me a while back.  My yummy lunch last week thanks to Janice
