MBO Cinemas’ Blood Donation Drive Exceeds Target!  Here's some wonderful news that popped up in my email inbox recently. Now I've been supporting MBO Cinemas' and their frequent blood donation campaigns every year. It's good news then that I got to know MBO Cinemas’ Blood Donation Drive exceed this year’s target of collecting over 5000 pints of blood, making the campaign a tremendous success. Another event for a good cause just came into my email today. This time around it is an initiative by MBO Cinemas and St. Johns Malaysia Ambulance, who recently announced the launch of a nationwide blood donation campaign. The campaign is set to take place in 23 (of 25) MBO locations around Malaysia, this September 27. At the same time, this campaign will be attempting to make it into the Malaysia Book of Records as the Biggest Nationwide Blood Donation Campaign by a Cinema Organization, by achieving 5000 blood donors in a single day. While I was at Sunway Carnival Mall in Penang the other day, this particular box caught my eye and interest. From afar it looked like a boxful of toys. On closer inspection, what do you know, it IS a boxful of toys! Colorful toys, cute toys. Second Chance Toys There were mostly plush toys, and some plastic like colorful things. However the toys are not for sale, nor to be taken. This is a toys donation charity box, for parents whose kids have outgrown their toys and would like to contribute. Second Chance Toys, that was the name given by the wife of Penang's Chief Minister's wife, Betty Chew as stated on the toy donation banner. I feel it was a noble effort indeed, to collect second hand toys which can then be distributed to deserving children. Cute toys As stated, Do not take, but give! So if you're around the neighborhood, and have excess toys, do take note there's a toys donation campaign held at Sunway Carnival Mall Penang.

This morning, I got a message from a fellow blogger on facebook informing me about this animal shelter donation drive. The donation drive is aptly named "Auntie Kiew's Animal Shelter Donation Drive". Have a look at the tagline for the drive below and you'll get the message. "Spend a day with the animals, adopt a pet, or help us by making a donation" "Here's a chance for you to make a difference" The donation drive would be held at KL, Old Klang Road to be exact, on the 13th of February from 12pm - 3pm. It's a Sunday! If you are in KL at that time, and have the time and wish to make a difference, do drop by.
