Located in the bustling Plaza Damas in Sri Hartamas, Swee Bee Cafe offers super delicious Pineapple tarts, premium tarts that literally crumble and melt inside your mouth. I for one am not a super big fan of pineapples, but popping one one these into the mouth turned me into a fan immediately.

Premium Pineapple tarts, all packed

How’s the texture? Soft, crumbly pastry, the moment you put it into the mouth, it literally crumbles. That’s when you start tasting the pineapple filling, a certain texture of sweetness and fresh. There’s a tinge of sour and sweetness. The buttery crust is to die for! Yum.

The colour is a lighter shade than other pineapple tarts, but I attribute it to the freshness of the pineapple used.

Yum!

Everybody loves a good story.

The story behind Swee Bee Cafe is one heartwarming one. We had the opportunity to listen to Baker Dave talk about how the traditional tarts are inspired by his mum’s original recipe of buttery pastry and pineapple fruits. Swee Bee is named after his mum, so sweet!

To Baker Dave, however, it is not just a pineapple tart. The tarts he makes represents the nostalgic and heart-warming moments of sharing his time with his mum in the kitchen of their home. And where, together, their passion, dedication and love are reflected in the crafting of this perfect buttery, sweet fruit pastry.

The pineapple tarts are square shaped, with no additive or chemically derived ingredients. In fact we were told the square shape represents an increasing wealth in a stable and safe manner. Pretty cool story.
