McDonald's Storytelling Contest 2017 - Mutiara Damansara
Live auditions! I love going to McDonald's Storytelling Contest live auditions! Why? Well, for starters, I get to witness the very cute, very creative and super brave children spin and act out their stories in front of a crowd. If that's not talent, I don't know what is.

McDonald's Storytelling Contest 2017 - Mutiara Damansara |
I'm One Of The Judges!
This time around, I was super privileged to be invited as one of the three judges for McDonald’s Storytelling Contest in the central region at McDonald’s Mutiara Damansara. Read on for my experience at the live auditions last weekend!
Who's a judge? You can call me Judge Isaac |
McDonald's Storytelling Contest 2017, not the first time they've held this, but this time the prizes offered are up till RM100,000! I was there last year for the
2016 live auditions as well! Now that's some lucrative rewards, hence so many parents sent their kids to participate. The shortlisted participants for the live auditions were selected from hundreds of Instagram video entries.
RM100,000 worth of prizes to be won! |
Super cool grand prize! 4pax family trip to Tokyo Disneyland & DisneySea |
Fancy a family holiday to Tokyo? All the kids at the live auditions are vying for the super cool grand prize, a 4pax family trip to Tokyo Disneyland & DisneySea. Now I wish I had a chance to participate as well.
Judges, show yourselves! The awesome Datuk Aznil was there too |
MY Experience Judging The McDonald's Storytelling Contest Live Auditions!
What a great way for families to bond, through storytelling, we saw the moms and dads dotting over their loved ones. Check out some of these awesome photos of the children in action! I took way lots more pictures than I would want to, just because they are too good!
Contestant #8, this elaborate costumed tiger kid is only 6 years old! |
Loads of expression during his storytelling session |
I got to watch these young storytellers spin and capture our attention with their cute antics. Some brought props, while others had really unique costumes to match their stories. Lovely indeed! Some even pranced and did summersaults around the stage, to the extent that the MC had to give a small heed of warning to not injure themselves.
How cute, contestant #18, our little red riding hood |
It was a joy watching them unravel their stories |
Here's another rather elaborate costume, contestant #20 |
There was a total of 21 contestants to be judged that afternoon. Time passed really fast though, as I enjoyed each and every story being spun and acted out in front of our eyes. I'm impressed! Even at very young age, these young kids have such a good grasp of the English language. Some even had an accent which totally blew me away! Never would I have imagined myself being as eloquent nor as brave as them when I was their age.
Now here's a young one, contestant #12 |
Are you a king, my dear contestant #1? |
Nice turtle props, and monkey costume! |
Through this contest, I would think it's a great opportunity to build stronger families within our communities. With overwhelming number of entries from the central region, another live audition will be held this weekend at McDonald’s Titiwangsa. Guess what? I will be there as well!
I'm a cute little tiger |
Real greeneries were used in this costume! |
