Recently, I was at Carousel International Coffeehouse, Palace Of The Golden Horses to try out their latest "Juadah Utara" promotion this September 2015. Featuring one of Malaysian's most loved delicacy, the Nasi Kandar, it was indeed a rather nice spread of dishes. Hailing from Penang, I'm no stranger to the northern style of cooking, and here Chef Mohd Tarmizi, Sous Chef of Carousel International Coffeehouse brought to us a taste of "Juadah Utara".

Offerings at the main buffet line include Rendang Ayam Cili Padi, Kambing Berempah Pedas, and Kambing Briyani. Some must tries include Ketam Bunga Goreng Pedas, Sotong Sumbat Pulut Kuning, Sotong Masak Berjintan and Udang Sambal Kerisik. These traditional recipes were passed down from Chef Tarmizi's grandparents from Kedah. The flavours are really strong, similar to the nasi kandar dishes I've had back in my hometown, Penang.
