Over the last weekend, I took the opportunity to drop by the 4th Tastefully Food & Beverage Expo 2013 over at PWTC KL. I did not attend any of their previous expos hence it was with great anticipation that I went for the event. With 200 booths on display with new products and free sampling sessions, it was indeed a rather large expo.

4th Tastefully Food & Beverage Expo 2013 @ PWTC KL |
Arriving at the venue in the morning, there was already a queue at the registration counter as everyone queued up for a free goodie bag of food products even before entering the hall where the expo was at. When we were there, the organizers were nice enough to bring us to sample eight of their selected merchants out of the 200 available at the 4th Tastefully Food & Beverage Expo 2013. Check out the below, as I give a quick run through on some of the merchants at the expo.

The F&N booth with the pretty promoter welcoming us |
|
#1 F&N Booth at the 4th Tastefully Food & Beverage Expo 2013 |
While the F&N brand is no stranger to the Malaysian public, it was nice to see that they have a really wide selection of food and beverages under the brand. There were many sweet products with good discounts. I could see many people took advantage of the discounts to stock up on their daily needs.
|
Cooking demonstration using F&N products |
On top of some free sampling and tasting, there were even cooking demonstrations done in front of the booths to showcase their products. It was indeed a day of noms, as nearly every booth or stall at the 4th Tastefully Food & Beverage Expo 2013 had a free sampler of their products.

#2 Pacific West - 'The Taste The World Loves' |
|
Various products from Pacific West |
If you love fish fillets, calamari rings and the likes, Pacific West has a whole selection of easy to prepare from freezer to fryer products to cater for everyone's love for deep fried crunchy stuff. Being a pioneer in the frozen food industry, this round they had this new product for us to sample, their wild salmon.
|
Salmon deep fried to golden perfection |
While being at the Pacific West booth, we got to sample their deep fried Salmon, which tasted really good if you asked me. The batter itself had just the perfect texture and crunchiness to it. At the booth, we could a set of salmon delights at the price of RM 39 instead
of the usual price of RM 49. The set includes the Japanese Breadcrumbs
Salmon Gaujan, Salmon in Mustard Sauce, Smokey Salmon in Peppercorn
Sauce and also salmon Burger.

#3 Greenday Healthy Snacks |
|
Made from real fruits, crispy snacks from Greenday |
Another one of the rather interesting booths at the 4th Tastefully Food & Beverage Expo 2013 we visited was the Greenday healthy snack booth. There we were treated to these crunchy, sweet snacks of various fruits. Interestingly, they tasted exactly like the fruits they represent, except in a crunchier drier form. I was told they were all made from real fruits without any added flavouring, hence the healthy snack term given.
|
One of the Greenday healthy snacks |
Personally I loved Greenday's mango snack, as it tasted exactly like my favourite mango slice except it was in a crispy form. They have plenty of flavours which includes banana, strawberry, and even the durian fruit, all sealed and vacuum packed. Each pack went for RM7, which is pretty reasonable considering the technology that goes into producing each of these snack.
|
#4 Biogreen booth |
Up next was the Biogreen booth, bringing us organic products at a more affordable price. Biogreen brought to us an assortment of products ranging from
healthy soy powder to breads and cookies. I'm all for healthy food, so to me, this booth is a must-visit spot at the 4th Tastefully Food & Beverage Expo 2013.

#5 The Legend Of Tea |
|
Fresh tea brewed for us |
With a name that reads The Legend Of Tea, it got me excited on the quality of the tea sold. It was a nice touch that the booth had fresh tea brewed on the spot for visitors to sample their wide range of tea leaves. There were various flower teas on sale, the osmanthus tea, rose tea, lavender tea and more, each having a good discount priced at RM 35 per box.
|
Always a fan of ice-creams, even green tea ice creams |
I've always had a soft spot for ice-creams, so when the folks from Legend Of Tea gave me a cone of their matcha tea ice-cream, I took it with a wide smile. Made from high-grade matcha powder, the ice-cream will literally sweeten anybody's day.

#6 Tian Di No. 1 |
|
One whole bottle of Tian Di No. 1 for good health |
Tian Di No. 1 introduces to the public it's healthy sparkling apple cider. Now I've tried before apple cider mixed with water, for health purposes, and the taste itself made it rather hard to swallow. It's a good thing then that Tian Di No.1 brings to us some sweet sparkling taste to the conventional apple cider drink. Selling at RM50 for two bottles, you must try this.
|
#7 Yuen Chun Sauces |
Yuen Chun also opened a booth at the 4th Tastefully Food & Beverage Expo 2013, with various discounts given for their sauces. We could get a huge variety of sauces which includes the abalone sauces, soy sauce, light soy sauce and many more, at a starting price of RM4.50 and above. They have a promotion on their easy cooking sauces as well, ranging from the steam fish sauces, kam heong, to garlic prawn sauces. All are available at RM 1.50 each.
|
Some Korean products on sale as well |
There were some Korean food products on sale as well, being stored under cold temperatures to maintain its freshness. We could get the famous Ramyun Ramen as well as some of the delicious Korean snacks. The prices were quite reasonable, if compared to purchasing it outside the expo.
|
#8 Hong Kong Doll Instant Noodles |
Don't ask me why it's named the Hong Kong Doll Instant Noodles, but the packaging for these instant noodles were indeed attractive. Imported from Hong Kong, the instant noodles displayed at the 4th Tastefully Food & Beverage Expo 2013 was garnering a lot of positive response due to its attractive pricing. Selling at RM20 for 4 packs, I got a few myself to try out.
|
More instant noodles and more at the Mee E-Zee booth |
Overall it was a good experience for me, attending my first food and beverage expo in KL. The 4th Tastefully Food & Beverage Expo 2013 ran for 3 days over the weekend, with the next one slotted to be in May 2014 at Midvalley, so be sure to look out for it. As for me, I'm just glad to be able to try out my Hong Kong instant noodles, the Tian Di No.1 Sparkling Apple Cider as well as the Legend Of Tea stuff soon.
Lots of free samples? No matcha for me, thank you very much.
