Baby Martin's First Time Up In Genting Highlands

Image
Just a short post this morning, to document down in this little space on the world wide web, about Baby Martin's first trip up Genting Highlands. He's now 10 months old, all bubbly and ready to take on Genting's cold weather. I did not snap many photos though, so bear with me.  One for the album, us at Genting Highlands

10th Genting World Lion Dance Championship 2012

Image
Over the weekend, I was up at Genting Highlands, partly to enjoy the fresh cold environment but mainly to meet the in-laws that drove up. It was a nice surprise for me to see that there was the 10th Genting World Lion Dance Championship 2012 on-going at the Arena Of Stars venue. Courtesy of Nuffnang , I had the opportunity to catch the show. 20th Anniversary 10th Genting World Lion Dance CHampionship 2012

Marrybrown Restaurant Genting Highlands

Image
Marrybrown is a Malaysian owned fast food franchise which isn't as popular as the usual KFC or Mcdonalds but have been around the local scene for quite some time now. They serve a localized fare of fried chicken, chicken porridge, nasi lemak, burgers and more . Anyway this post would be my take on Marrybrown's branch in First World Plaza , Genting Highlands . Marrybrown Genting Highlands Marrybrown Restaurant First World Plaza, Genting Highlands Part of the reason how I ended up in a fast food restaurant on the first night I was up in Genting Highlands the other day was the fact that I arrived way past midnight. Walking around Genting , there weren't much choices for hot food as most eateries were already closed for the night. This was when I stumbled upon Marrybrown with it's " Open 24hours" sign , with the promise of offering hot freshly prepared food. It was indeed a welcome sight on a cold night. Coffee Terrace Genting Highland

Image
Let's rewind back to yesterday, and what happened around my personal space. As i mentioned in my previous blog post, i got the free buffet dinner voucher at Coffee Terrace Genting Highland . Well both my gf and I reached there around 6.30pm, it's a long walk from First World Hotel . Anyway found out the buffet dinner here is priced at RM 60++ for adult. Nice, i got RM120++ worth of freebie. Coffee Terrace Genting Highland The place looks, and smells great. Ambiance wasn't excellent due to the number of people there, but the food really looks great. And i was to find out later the food tastes great too! You will really be spoilt for choice here, as there are so many counters ranging from western to asian foods . Just have a look below at the various counters. Any food for you sir? It made me wonder about the cooks and chefs working there, every counter had like 4 to 5 workers behind the counters. Where do they get the money to pay these workers? Next up will be...

Sunday.. A day of rest.

Image
Woke up freezing to death. I guess this is what you get when you sleep with the hotel room windows open throughout the night. Brr.. Glitz Brochure The plan today is to survive another day of walking around Genting Highlands. Found out the room entitles us to get 2 complimentary tickets to the night show "Glitz". Found some pictures off the net on this show as attached. Its a once a day show at 9pm. Hopefully it won't be a letdown. While we are on the topic of Genting Highlands, I've always wondered if not for the casinos, what else is here. The theme park is so yesterday, everything looks like it is 30 years old. If compared Genting 5 years ago and now, I haven't noticed any changes. The buildings, routes, pathways are all the same. I wonder when will there be another major revamp of the whole place. Have you ever seen one of this banners below? Or approached by one of the sales person standing around Genting asking you if you want to upgrade your G...

Saturday Night.. still At Genting

Image
Aloha again peeps, it's night already. Let me do a quick recap what I did today. I'm getting the hang of this blogging thing, it's like my personal diary where I can document my thoughts. Nothing too personal though. Today, reached Genting-check. Had dinner-check. Went walking around. The 70% clothing sales at the convention centre is still ongoing. I think itll never end. It was here in may and it's still here in December. They're selling the same stuff. Anyway since my Gf and her sisters love to shop, I just hang around this place. My interests are mostly on the shoes on sale. Hush puppies shoes are going for rm 199. However the designs are not to my tastes. There are cheap perfumes here too, but the brands are unknown and hence the quality unknown as well. The rest of the stuffs available here are ladies stuffs, eg purse, dresses, dresses and more dresses. Moving on at around 8pm, I decided I wanted some "bak gua", my obsession ...

Saturday At Genting Highlands

Image
Finally after an hour drive up Genting highland , I'm here. Check out the queue from the picture above. The reason would most probably be due to the school holidays and the weekend. Imagine, for the first time I encountered a traffic jam going into the car park and also while looking for car park space. Ok the only reason I'm typing this entry is because I'm hungry and I need to while the time away while waiting for my gf's family to arrive. They're still looking for parking. Later everybody will be having dinner together. Hmm family. 2 nights up here... Until then... - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone
