Urban Ground Kelana Jaya (Chic Ole, Belacan-Laa, One Bite, Gratzi)
Urban Ground, pretty unique name for a chill out makan spot, reminding me of some modern hipster establishment. Just recently, I was over there at Urban Ground which is located at Menara Kelana Parkview along the LDP Highway checking out all the eateries inside, a multitude of dishes consisting of fried chicken, dim sums, coffee, cakes and more! Did You Know?
Urban Ground is a trending eatery which consists of 4 different outlets aka nom nom offerings inside, namely Chic Ole, Belacan-Laa, One Bite and Gratzi. Entering the establishment, we were immediately greeted with a comfortable sight of minimalist colourful decor.
Offering an assortment of food and drinks, the place itself is the perfect spot not just for dining out with family and friends, but also a place to hang out and even work. This is apt indeed considering that nowadays a lot of people work out from the office at cafes.
The best part about Urban Ground is its location, where you could just drop by whenever you're in the vicinity of the LDP highway in Kelana Jaya. Inside the establishment, it houses four homegrown F&B brands. Yes, you heard that right, homegrown unique, one of a kind food and beverage brands. From the yummy fried chicken over at Chic Ole, to local flavours from Belacan-Laa, to halal and muslim friendly dim sum at One Bite, and finally some fine tasting coffee and cakes in Gratzi, you can have it all!
Chic Ole
Western food and fried chicken lovers will do well to try out the spicy fried chicken, nuggets, popcorn chicken and more from Chic Ole. I do like their offerings as its made fresh and they are really tasty. Even the fries tasted better than the competitors out there!
Belacan-Laa
Walking up to the counter at Belacan-Laa, I noticed some really scrumptious looking belacan chicken on display, being heated all ready to go into my nasi lemak ayam goreng.
Local cuisine is served at Belacan-Laa, with delicious asam laksa, kopitiam style half boiled eggs, local coffee and roti bakar being my favourites. Just like what my local coffeeshop back in Penang would have served.
A special mention has to be made for the really tasty fried chicken from Belacan-Laa. It goes perfectly with the aromatic nasi lemak served piping hot from the kitchen. Good stuff!
One Bite Dim Sum
Now it's rather tough to find halal dim sum in PJ and KL, so One Bite Dim Sum definitely fills up a good portion of people's needs. Halal and Muslim friendly, One Bite Dim Sum comes in a rather wide variety of selections, from steamed dim sum to fried dumplings and spring rolls.
We tried out their assorted steamed dumplings, my favourite siew mai, loh mai gai, bbq chicken buns and more on our visit to Urban Ground that afternoon.
Gratzi
To cater for those who just want a good cup of coffee and probably a slice of cake, you have Gratzi. Relax and just while your time away while tapping on your laptop, while sipping on good coffee. Do try out their Ondeh-ondeh cake when you're there as it is the bomb!
My visit to Urban Ground has definitely been a good one. It's a really cozy spot to gather and dine with friends and family. From what I heard, they're in the plans of expanding to more places very soon! Do drop by Urban Ground at Menara Kelana Parkview the next time you're craving for some good food and in the vicinity.
