Bloggers Session With Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin, Minister of KPDNKK

Bloggers Session With Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin, Minister of KPDNKK

Now it’s not every day that one gets to sit down over dinner, and listen to a minister of Malaysia speak, to understand on all the good efforts that have been done by his ministry. It was a rather personal session with bloggers the other day at Hotel Istana, where we not only got to listen, but also to interact and get our questions answered by the Minister of Kementerian Perdagangan Dalam Negeri, Koperasi dan Kepenggunaan, Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin. So what did we learn that evening? Read on below then!

The session was held to foster a closer relationship between the folks from KPDNKK and us, bloggers, so we can understand more on what the ministry is up to and can relay it to the masses, aka consumers. It’s all about the consumers right?

Did you know, sometimes the ministry has less control over the increase in prices of late, mostly due to the existence of middle men that take a lot more profit than what they are suppose to. Who becomes the victim then? Us, consumers of course! This indirectly increases the cost of living in Malaysia which isn’t good at all.

Personally, living in this country, I do feel the pinch recently as most prices are on the increase. Tightening the belt is an option, but one must be smart in planning our finances as well. Needs versus wants, we always have wants, but do we really need it? By implementing self control and good planning, we can pick and choose, making sure no unscrupulous sellers who simply increase their prices gets our business.

Of course, it is always easy to place the blame on KPDNKK, as they are the one who are “supposed” to control the prices, but we as citizens have to play our part as well to rid our society of traders and businesses who cheats and simply increase their goods’ prices.

Friends of KPDNKK

Play a part in helping the ministry by becoming a member of Friends of KPDNKK. Now here’s a rather catchy title. Friends of KPDNKK was initially formed with and objective to feedback and help the government in ensuring price tags and price on services are regulated. How interesting. In return, you get to enjoy further discounts and special privileges on products and services of the vendors that participate.

Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin during the event gave a lengthy speech on the efforts by his ministry. In fact , Kedai Rakyat 1Malaysia (KR1M) 2.0 to be launched soon was repeated in his talk more than once. I hope to see good things out from this effort.

Majlis Tindakan Sara Hidup Negara is established to counter the rising cost of living in Malaysia, and it actually consists of numerous government ministries. The folks from KPDNKK will be scrutinising every factor in the analysis of our cost of living from housing, transportation to utilities and F&B sector. Our deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi will be heading this.

  7. Ohh you are so lucky to have this opportunity to colloborate with your government and your Ministrybis open for this. Same with Singapore MOf whrn they recently collaborate with influencers (i don't care what the naysayers said). This is good, to help hand in hand to spread the good word to the consumers. How I wish we in the Philippines have this.
