It was another day out of fun with the family last weekend at
The Arc, Bandar Rimbayu under IJM Land. Both my kids were back in Penang, hence I was there with the wife to enjoy the activities specifically catered for families and kids.
Rimbayu's Happy Family Day, it was indeed a good weekend out, away from the busy city.

It was my second time over at The Arc, Bandar Rimbayu. Finding my way to The ARC, Bandar Rimbayu wasn't too hard to find, being featured prominently in Waze and all. Bandar Rimbayu is a premier township development by IJM Land, inspired nostalgia for a time when life was simple and people lived close to nature, in a safe, and supportive neighbourhood. Set in tranquil green surroundings on a 1,879 acre site, Bandar Rimbayu will be an iconic mixed development of residential, commercial, recreational and parkland components.

5D Movie Theatre |

Janice enjoying the 5D Theatre |
There were multiple activities going on throughout the morning. There was a 5D Movie Theatre, Zorb Ball arena, on field for adults and water for the kids, massage sessions as well as a flea market to shop for your knick knacks. Upon reaching and registering ourselves, we immediately headed to the theatre to experience it before the crowd started to queue. It was pretty cool, in 3D, with water, and movements throughout the 5 minutes session.

Flea Market |
In the midst of enjoying the activities, we were ushered to the showrooms behind by the kind staffs to cast our vote. Vote you say? Yes, we were there to help determine the winner of IJM Land Designer Award 2016, by casting our votes for our favourite interior design on-site itself!
|
This way please to vote |
Under the theme “Reliving Nostalgic Memories”, IJM LAND challenged young interior designers to submit their concepts for the furnishing of the Penduline homes in Bandar Rimbayu. More than 100 contestants took on the challenge and tried to convince the 7-person jury of their vision. We were there to check out two houses with the interiors done up by the 2 finalists of iLDA 2016, Goh Sow Yee and Leo Wong Kwan Theng.

Checking out the living room of Showroom Type A before heading upstairs |
There were two showrooms for us to compare, each located side by side. We went ahead to check out Showroom Type A first, with its bluish interior living room. Pretty cozy looking, as shown in the pictures above. We then headed upstairs.

Interesting bed, in the master bedroom |
|
Love the decor of the children's room |
|
The second youngster themed bedroom |
|
Space saving modern concept bed |
TYPE A Showroom to me comes across as being very nicely done up, yet not as practical to live in as compared to TYPE B if there's a family with kids running around and all. However we were there to judge the design, not the practicality of the arrangements, so let's reserve our judgment first yes. On to TYPE B Showroom next!

Entering TYPE B Showroom, I immediately took a liking for its black and white theme, which looks a lot more sophisticated. How I wish my home had these interior design. Maybe I could engage the winners to help style up my home? Anyway, after our oohs and ahhs, we headed upstairs to check out the rooms.

Thumbs up, now can I live here Ma? |

Love the home office setup in the master bedroom |
No prizes for guessing which design I voted for. The home office setup in TYPE B Showroom won it for me, as well as the sophisticated and modern black and white theme of the living room and bedroom. TYPE A was good too, but hey, we only had one vote.

Say hi to Mr Clown |
Overall it was a good and fun day out. Kudos to The Arc, Bandar Rimbayu IJM Land for organizing this Happy Family Day. I did not manage to snap photos of the massage corner, but trust me when I say its awesome, foot and back massages done by therapists from MAB - Malaysian Association For The Blind.
