Fancy some real nice home made cakes? Newly opened at Damansara Perdana, It Cake has to have the friendliest staff and delicious pretty cakes that I've seen in a while. Run by a husband and wife team from Korea, It Cake is a humble pastry shop that I would definitely go back for more of their cakes. It Cake @ Damansara Perdana

Occubite Pastry Cafe @ Quill City Mall, Kuala Lumpur

Image
Occubite Pastry Cafe, another cafe that did not turn out like how I've expected it to be. With a name that reads pastries, I only expected pastries and cakes at their outlet in Quill City Mall. It was a pleasant surprise then, when multiple warm and savoury dishes were served. Check out what we had the other day when we were at Occubite. Occubite Pastry Cafe @ Quill City Mall, Kuala Lumpur

Dad's Birthday Celebration With Family

Image
Early this month, it was my dad's birthday and he so happened to be with us in KL, hence we brought him out for a nice Bak Kut Teh dinner at Chuan Kee Restaurant along Jalan Genting Klang before surprising him with a simple birthday cake at home. It was a nice dinner, which I hoped that will make daddy happy.  Happy Birthday Dad !

Gartien Pineapple Cake To Celebrate Mid Autumn Festival 2014

Image
Gartien Pineapple Cakes , now I've tried these before and they have really hit my sweet spot for delicious pastries. Mid Autumn Festival is here again, and with that Gartien came up with a newly designed packaging, which I prefered as compared to their darker tone ones last year. Each box came with the signature savoury pineapple cake packed into each box (10 pieces to a box).  Gartien Pineapple Cake To Celebrate Mid Autumn Festival 2014

Nadeje Cake Shop Plaza Mahkota Malacca

Image
So there I was at the original spot where I was told the mille crepe craze began. Dropping by the Nedeje Cake Shop at Plaza Mahkota Malacca one fine afternoon, it was indeed a very cozy spot to have some cakes. My first encounter with this delicious thing called the mille crepe was way back in 2011 at Food Foundry with friends. I had another taste of it at the Nuffnang Asia Pacific Blog Awards 2011 from Humble Beginnings and I was hooked. The Original Flavoured Mille Crepe, my favourite - RM9.50/slice

A Short Lunch Break At Secret Recipe

Image
The other day, I was sort of hungry during lunch for some cake, and decided to crash in at this Secret Recipe outlet near my work place. It has been a while since I last splurged on Secret Recipe's food. Have a look below on what I had that afternoon. We did not order a lot, but it was really filling. I started off with the chocolate chip walnut cake. Initially I wanted to order some cheese cakes as Secret Recipe is famous for its various cheese cakes, but decided not to because I wanted to save the calories there and spend it on the ice cream later! Chocolate Chip Walnut Cake - RM6.50 Next up, ordered the main course, which was the chicken cordon bleu, and satay respectively. The cordon bleu was really nice with creamy cheese in it. I forgot to take a picture of the cheese inside because greedy me ate most of it before realizing. Chicken Cordon Bleu - RM15.80 The Satay was good, with huge chunks of chicken meat. But I actually prefer satays with a bit of fat, this w...

40 Drunkards In A Room

Image
What do you get when you stuff 40 dudes (plus a few dudets) into a room and give them lots of alcohol on the pretense of having a Chinese new year gathering plus farewell party plus birthday celebration? Well, you get a lot of red faces plus a hell of a noisy room! Well, there we were at Six Happiness Restaurant near Ampang Waterfront from 8.30pm until 11pm having fun, singing away. I think it was fun as it gave the chance for everybody to release the tension from work and just let go. Oh, I forgot to mention, this was a Chinese New Year yearly gathering with colleagues, except this year there was a farewell included for one of the bosses, plus 2 birthday boys. My dear colleagues I wanted to take a picture of the dishes, but due to the number of guys at each table, the moment the food was served, it was snapped up before you could say "Kampai!"  I did manage to snap one picture of the birthday cake. What can I say, I love my colleagues, especially when they'r...

Mocha Cheese Cake from Baker's Cottage

Image
This evening, I suddenly had the urge to have some cake. Don't ask me why, I just felt like having one of those cakes you see in the bakery. One thing led to another and before I knew it, I was already in front of this bakery within walking distance from my Wangsa Maju home. The bakery is called The Baker's Cottage located at Section 2 Wangsa Maju just behind the Wangsa Maju LRT. Baker's Cottage already had their Chinese New Year decorations up. I normally come to this bakery for its mooncakes during the mooncake festival.   The Baker's Cottage There were quite a number of cakes and all types of breads in this shop. My partner was with me, so we were eyeing all the yummy cakes in the bakery. I think she was more excited than I was.  Some of the cakes on display I suddenly became interested in these egg tarts We finally decided on the Mocha Cheese Cake as it looks good, is on sale, and I love mocha! Also the fact that I could see sliced almonds lining the...
