The Hangover Part 2 Movie Review

Tonight I had the chance to catch this movie "Hangover 2", a sequel to the movie "Hangover" thanks to Nuffnang. It was held at TGV Sunway Pyramid, and judging from the good reviews from the original movie, I went into the cinema hall hoping to catch a good classy comedy.

My expectation for the movie was rather high, even though I did not manage to catch the original Hangover (part1) yet. So does this sequel or remake of Hangover live up to the expectation? Read on below.

Our tickets which looked rather nice to me.
We have Bradley Cooper as Phil, a rather handsome but foul mouthed fellow, Ed Helms as Stu, the dentist who is rather like your regular boring Joe, and Alan, played by Zack Galifianakis the severely "retarded", rather obnoxious but extremely funny dude. Together they form this group of friends headed to Thailand to catch Stu's wedding to this very beautiful Thai woman.

A rather "safe" night of drinking beer by the beach a couple of days before the wedding day, ended up with all 3 of them waking up the next morning in a dingy hotel in Bangkok! And that's when the fun begins. Stu got a tattoo permanently inscribed on his face while Alan got his head shaved bald, and they were missing Teddy, Stu's wife's brother.

A frantic search then ensued with our band of friends going all over Bangkok in search of Teddy, ending up in all sorts of mess. We had monkeys, Russian gangsters, transvestites, and even monks got involved to bring out some really hilarious scenes.

Overall, for someone who did not catch the first Hangover movie, this Hangover 2 was pretty good. However on another note, I've heard that the first movie had the same storyline and premise except that it was in Vegas instead of Bangkok. Those that have watched the first Hangover would probably feel that Hangover 2 wasn't original enough. I'll leave you with some stills from the movie and the trailer for Hangover 2. Catch it for a good "wtf" laugh.

  15. have not watched the movie but the first thing that caught my eye was the movie tickets itself!! oh, they are so nicely printed, but am sure it's only for the premieres though, normal tickets we get would only have ugly printed text, haha!!
