De-worming For Kids - Introducing Zentel Tablets

Deworming For Kids

Worms? De-worm? Now here's a term I've been recently acquainted with, especially in recent times since the older kid, Martin has started schooling. Karlson is in pre-school and both of them always comes back covered in dirt with dirty clothes. I don't even know what they do in school! Anyway, this got me concerned over hygiene and the growing concerns of worm infestation in my child's digestive system is rather worrying.

A quick check online brought me up to speed real quick on what and how do kids get worm infestations. Did you know just by walking or playing barefoot in the garden or playground containing infected soil, they could get infested? O.M.G.

Some other ways the kids can get worms infestation are as below.

  • eating unwashed fruits, vegetables, fish or meat that may contain worm eggs or worms.
  • eating green produce washed with contaminated water.
  • transfer of parasitic worms from pets to owner.
  • not washing hands with soap and water after defecating.

What are the symptoms to look out for in our kids?

For starters, worms in stool is definitely an obvious sign. Abdominal pain, loss of appetite, itchy bottom, fever, irritability and disturbed sleep, and inactivity are some of the other symptoms of worms infestation. In severe cases of infestations, it may cause the kid to have diarrhea, weight loss, anemia and fatigue. Pretty serious concerns there!

It affects the physical health and has an impact on normal growth and can cause malnutrition. Developmental delays and poor cognitive function can also be a side effect.
