Meat Galore, Good Quality Noms @ STIQ, Wangsa Maju

Meat Galore, Good Quality Noms @ STIQ, Wangsa Maju

Right where I used to live, over in section 2 Wangsa Maju, right beside Burger Bakar Kaw Kaw, we have the latest, yummiest spot in town for awesome meat. Aptly named STIQ (get it?, stiq, steak), they serve really good quality meat dishes, at affordable street food pricing. How does that even work?! Best steak in Wangsa Maju, I would think so. You've got to read on then!

Now I totally love my steak, hence when I heard of Stiq and how it has gone viral on social media, I just had to try it out for myself. Stiq started operations in October last year, and they have been going strong ever since. In fact, I heard the same folks from Burger Bakar Kaw Kaw are behind Stiq.

Sous Vide Cooking for ALL!

All the meat at Stiq are pre-cooked in sous vide at their central kitchen before being prepared at the location when we order our dishes. What's sous vide? That's a whole chapter in itself, but it's good to know. Sous Vide Cooking are usually reserved for those high end hotel restaurants and such, hence to have it at Stiq is really something awesome and new!

The technique of sous vide cooking relies on the superior ability of water to transfer heat to vacuum/sealed food, which is about 10 times more efficiently than air does. Did you know, the folks from STIQ actually invested RM80,000 to set up the deceptive looking kitchen over at their "roadside outlet" at Wangsa Maju. Don't play play.

Bring on The Beef!

Each dish comes with refreshing salad, baked potato and caramelized onion on the side side, and you get a free drink too when you start feasting on the meat!

Another portion of Bone Ribs, my FAVOURITE!

I can't get enough of the delectable Bone Ribs served by Stiq. Slow cooked for 30 hours, the meat is incredible, literally falling off the bone, tender and very, very flavourful. Served with potatoes, doused in their special sauce (did I tell you, each dish have a very distinct and different sauce), this is a meal to be shared, unless you have a big appetite.

Steak lovers, rejoice! From grass fed striploins, to wagyu striploins, you are getting your money's worth when you order these. I love how juicy the meat is, where you can have it without any sauce (just the way I like it), or dip / pour in with the accompanied sauce. Choose how well done or rare you want your steak to be, and it will be served just the way you want it to be. Great noms!

Savour the Lamb

The lamb shank was shown earlier on in this blog post, so if you missed it, just scroll all the way up :). I personally loved the Kambing Lambak, as each bite sized morsel was filled with juicy flavours! The sous vide style of cooking really warms up to me, as each of the dishes were right up my alley. Oh how I miss the flavours, got to plan another trip back soon.

Chicken, anyone?

Don't forget the chicken dishes, as Stiq aims to please all palates. We get to choose from a host of different sauces and preparation techniques, from Peri-peri sauces, to Black Pepper, Kimchi or plain barbequed chicken, each slow cooked for 12 hours for that perfect taste and texture.

Are you ready for the good stuff? I AM!

If you haven't noticed yet, the prices are really good, considering the quality and quantity of each meat given. You get 30-40% cheaper meat compared to dining at other restaurants, and yet the quality is the same, or even better! Stiq at Wangsa Maju prides itself in preparing honest to goodness, yummy, high quality meat, and it shows. Will I be back? That's a resounding YES from me and my friends who went that night. Go check them out today itself!
