Superb Cré Arts Asia Performance @ Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (KLPAC)

It was truly an impressive performance from Cre Arts Asia, where my whole family including the kids enjoyed the other day. If you did not read my pre-event write-up, head here now (Cré Arts Asia Coming Soon @ Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (KLPAC)). Anyway, read on for a short account on how the show went.

Of Fire, Water and Earth!

A modern circus, one without the usual lions, elephants and animals, but with gravity defying acts from skilful perfomers instead. It's a performance comprising of acts that challenge the elements, from water, fire, air, earth and lots of lights. Truly a feast for the eyes.

Cre Arts Asia is South-East Asia’s largest modern circus troupe and a collaboration between two Malaysian performing art studios – Viva Circus and Psycusix. The lighting inside was very, very dim, hence the pictures I took wasn't really up to mark. Nevertheless I will still be sharing some snaps I managed to take of the wonderful performances.

I think this was the part of the wind, or water.

You will be surprised how even bubbles can be distorted into crazy shapes and when spinning fire or lights. I really liked how the colours and lightings made everything seem so surreal. Cré is primarily themed to showcase the beauty of Mother Earth, interpreting the natural elements of air, water, earth and fire through the use of the human body as a medium. Throughout the course of the show, we were shown with breathtaking aerial acrobatics, contortions, mesmerising dance performances and much more.

It is awesome to see all the performers shine and how a human body can be trained to do things. From what I understand, some of the performers have won several international awards and performed at renowned venues worldwide!

It's pretty good news too that Cre Arts Asia will be donating part of the proceeds from ticket sales to International Medical University Malaysia (IMU) Chariofare, the largest fundraising event at IMU. How noble of them.
