FOOD Hunt: Gather Gather Kitchen @ Kota Kemuning, Selangor

Delicious NOMS at Gather Gather Kitchen

Another happy food hunt with some of my fellow foodies the other day, this time to the corners of Kota Kemuning. Food can be found at every corner of this township, and there we were that evening at one of the more popular Chinese restaurant, Gather Gather Kitchen @ Kota Kemuning to savour their fares.

We arrived in the evening, and Gather Gather Kitchen was already filled with diners, all in the midst of savouring their yummy dishes. Among the 5 of us, we savoured more than ten of their signature dishes, and none of it let us down. Check out what we had that evening below, starting with their popular Explosion Pork Ball Noodles

Love how the pork balls literally explode in your mouth upon chomping down on it.

Perfect to be taken during lunch, Gather Gather's Explosion Pork Ball Noodles, is a smooth dish, with delicious noodles imported all the way from China. What makes this dish interesting is the pork balls, which squirt out its juices the moment you bite into it. Good stuff, perfect to be taken as a meal on its own. Of course, we didn't stop at this dish, and continued on with the subsequent ten dishes.

Deep Fried Lotus Roots with Salted Egg and Signature Choy Heong Tofu

I'm not exaggerating when I say nearly all of their signature dishes were really flavourful, with a unique taste of its own. Even the starters, the Deep Fried Lotus Roots with Salted Egg and Signature Choy Heong Tofu left a lasting impression on my taste buds. Love how the lotus roots were deep fried with the strong intense flavour of salted egg, being crispy on the inside, and out. The tofu had these minced meat on top, which went very well with the smooth tofu and sauce. Perfect dishes to be taken with rice.

Signature Potato Fried Pork

A combination of potatoes and pork belly, this is one very hearty dish. The Signature Potato Fried Pork comes on a plate doused in their special sauce. I was told this is one of their more popular dish, where the potato is sliced really thin, blending well with the sauce and the pork belly. Did I mention before, any dish which includes pork belly in it , is a good dish by my books.

Fried Crispy Roast Pork

My favourite dish that evening had to be the Fried Crispy Roast Pork. Who doesn't love caramelized fried pork? I love it to bits, as it tasted heavenly with lots of garlic, and thick dark soy sauce thrown into the mix. Stir fried to a crisp, it is a rather sinful dish, with the bits of fats and all. Something to indulge in, but not everyday or that tummy will grow!

Signature Steamed Tilapia with Nyonya Sauce and the Chef Signature Grouper Fish Head Curry

Our subsequent dish are very similar yet vastly different in taste and flavour. We had the Signature Steamed Tilapia with Nyonya Sauce and the Chef Signature Grouper Fish Head Curry. The nyonya sauce really gives the dish a different unique flavour. Love it almost as much as the Chef Signature Grouper Fish Head Curry. The curries were different, but I do like the thick and flavourful fish head curry. Both are must try dishes if you love fish.

Signature Deep Fried Ma Yao

Nothing much to shout about for the Signature Deep Fried Ma Yao, except probably for the fish sauce used. Looks simple, yet its flavourful enough for us to finish it clean to the bone. The small ginger strips on top, and tasty fish sauce below, really goes well with the crispy flesh of the fish.

Three Spice Chicken

After all that good food, its nice to see some poultry dish being brought out. Last dish, but definately not losing out to the rest, we had the Three Spice Chicken, served in a claypot like bowl. The pieces of chicken thigh is cooked in soy sauce, shaoxing wine, sesame oil, loaded with garlic cloves, slices of ginger, and fresh basil leaves. Good stuff!

Do rememeber to drop by Gather Gather Kitchen the next time you're in the vicinity of Kota Kemuning, Selangor and looking for some delicious Chinese cuisine.
