Glam 1920s: Party Of The Century Empire City @ Damansara Perdana

The Party Of The Century  has come to pass, happening last weekend where everybody came decked in their best 1920's theme all set to enjoy and party the night away. With big names and celebrities walking down the red carpet, I was there to witness it all, and it's all good. The theme was Glam 1920s, venue Empire City, and so began another big note for Empire City.

The venue was at the still under construction Empire City. Even though outside it may look like a construction site, I stood in awe at the transformation they did to the whole area, changing it into a 1920s red carpet ambiance for celebrities and VIPs to party the night away. I found it interesting that the place we stood is going to be Empire City's new Olympic sized skating rink.

In fact, the excitement began a week back before the party, where my fellow bloggers and friends were frantically looking and sourcing for outfits and accessories to suit the 1920s theme. Lucky for the guys, we have it easier where all we needed was a tux, a bow tie and nice pair of shoes. The ladies have a tougher time getting suitable dresses and accessories. It was indeed pretty cool that they actually took effort to dress up to the nines.

Before the big names and special performances from Paris Hilton, Taboo of the Black Eye Peas, and Australian tenor, Mark Vincent began, we were treated to acrobatic and aerial performances by very talented folks. I found the violinist, Caitlin De Ville to be one of the greatest act of the night, being able to play upside down, and moving around while being suspended nearly 4 storeys up into the air. Awesome stuff.

The celebrities, both local and international started arriving from 8pm onwards at the red carpet entrance. Photographers crowded the area trying to snap good shots. A short intervention where Empire City is introduced to the VIPs present, and a toast given, before the performances began. 2AM came forth belting out very catchy Korean pop tunes.

As the night drew on, more stars came forth to perform with Paris Hilton being one of the anticipated ones. She was there that night at the DJ decks spinning to some of her hit songs along with dancers at the side. I think it could have been better, but still she was eye candy that night, and to be able to catch a celebrity such as herself is a plus point in my books.

The party had some pretty big names in the industry as well,  with Hong Kong artist Him Law, Sharon Chan, Eliza Sum, and Elanne Kong gracing the red carpet. Overall, it was a very good night out with friends and fellow bloggers. Party Of The Century by Empire City definately sets the bar high for any other new super development launches. Special thanks to Sidney for the invitation, and Jiun Wai for some of the awesome photographs used in this post.
