Philips Ultimate Cook Off Challenge

Following up from my previous post (Philips The Ultimate Cook-Off Contest - Lose The Oil Not The Taste), where it was a call to participate in the contest. Last week, on a fine weekend, Facebook winners of the contest and bloggers paired up to compete for Philips Ultimate Cook Off Challenge over at Aeon Big Subang Jaya. Check out my experience cooking and having fun using the latest Philips Airfryer to whip up delectable dishes.

For someone like me who rarely cooks, joining a full blown cooking competition such as this Philips Ultimate Cook Off Challenge is very new to me. I was initially apprehensive to join as I knew I couldn't whip up a decent dish anytime soon. Luckily, I was paired with an experienced cook, and blogger as well, Christine Choy, which bumped up my confidence a couple of notch higher.

Throughout the competition, we were allowed to use Philips cooking utensils and equipment, which was pretty cool, as their new Philips Viva Collection Digital AirFryer made cooking very easy.  The AirFryer was able to cook, bake, and even fry chicken and various meat without any oil added. Inside, no oil is being used as well, which to me is an indicator of how technologically advanced cooking utilities have become.

Throughout the competition, we were allowed to use Philips cooking utensils and equipment, which was pretty cool, as their new Airfryer made cooking very easy. The concept is pretty simple, pair up, and cook a very nice dish within the allocated time. Each group consisting of one blogger and one FB winner were given 15 minutes to rush off into the aisle with an RM50 preloaded card to buy our raw materials.

We were given ample time to complete our masterpiece, which in my group's case was a delicious platter of Orange and Lemon Fried Chicken, fried using the Philips AirFryer, oriental style. I was really impressed with the other groups' creations, which ranged from pastries, dessert, to very savoury meat dishes. Check out below on some of the nicer ones being created that day by awesome bloggers and FB participants.

After seeing all the dishes whipped up by my competitors, it was indeed stressful to make the most of our dish, and ensure it was enough to wow the judges. It was a good thing that Christine, my teammate  had everything figured out, right down to the colours of the final decorations. Check out our dish below.

As consolation prize winners, my teammate Christine and I got to take home a Philips pressure cooker each, which was more than what I have hoped for entering this competition. Thank you Philips Malaysia for the opportunity to join in the Philips Ultimate Cook Off Challenge. Wonderful memories, new friends, what else can I hope for going into any event.

  2. Wow ! ! ! Nice topic. I love cooked at 200C for 10 minutes. Thanks for share it. People like snacks, especially kids who can be challenging to nourish at periods. Asking them if they want snacks will normally outcome in a 'yes' reaction. When you create them in an Airfryer, you will have the included information that you are not stuffing their systems up with needless body fat. Egg, bread, seafood or ham and snacks is usually a winner! As you will get very little meals remaining on the dish, this will mean the cash you are investing on meals does not end up in the bin!

  3. Congrats. At least we have something in hand. Philips is leading in the cookware industry for sure. The winner deserved as their food looks really impressive. So knowing that the best selection of kitchen appliance can be a part but skill of cook perhaps a large portion for a great meal.

  4. It is a nice way to advertise for the air fryer of Philips. However, in fact air fryer is indeed perfect in less to no oil cooking to my experiences. I do succeed in making a lot of dishes with air fryer and get a lot of benefits from using this wonderful kitchen appliance.

  5. I love Philips.
I love that it can fry food without grease and the extra calories and fat that come with using a regular fryer.
Cooking food through an air fryer is often a healthy option to deep-frying applying gas.
Hot air fryers make use of excited air rather than very hot gas to help make meals meals.
A trendy label of this heat stove that makes use of this preparing container may be the Philips heat fryer.

  13. Great article and nothing to say about philips airfryer. To make chips, you need to toss them in the oil of the bowl. After that pop them in preheated machine. You may hear some sounds but not noisy enough. Just like the conversation of radio. The chips are very interesting. It will take only 20 minutes, and the chips are healthy enough. Chips are somewhat dry but not fluffy or soft enough in the middle. The chips are tastier than the chips of an oven.
