Bulgogi Brothers New Burger Revolution

Popular Seoul-based BBQ franchise, Bulgogi Brothers came up with an introduction of four new menu items recently that revolutionizes a classic favourite into a Korean barbecue masterpiece. I had the opportunity to try out their new burger revolution recently, with four new addition, the Kimchi Burger, the Bibimbap Burger, the Spicy Gwangyang Burger, and Unyang Burger to appease our appetite.

Bulgogi Brothers is a Korean casual dining restaurant concept managed by ET&Zeus Co., a company founded by Intae Jung and Chaiwoo Yi. The first Bulgogi Brothers restaurant opened in Gang-Nam, south of Seoul, Korea in 2006. Bulgogi is a savory dish that dates back to 200 years ago, which literally means fire meat ("bul" means fire while "gogi" is meat). Seasoned meats are prepared and grilled by the tableside and it has long been considered a "celebration dish" until recently when it evolved into a staple dish served everywhere in Korea.

Bulgogi Brothers now offers premium Australian marinated sliced beef or marinated homemade beef patty loaded with some of the best ingredients from a Korean kitchen, namely the kimchi, pickled radish, Korean chili paste, fresh vegetables and gooey fried egg delicately crafted into compact charcoal bun burgers.

Bulgogi Brothers' Burger revolution is born from a simple idea which is to create an alternate way to enjoy bulgogi without compromising on the quality and flavours, whilst staying true to its Korean roots. Eventually, the idea gave birth ot a movement, a taste revolution in a sense. We got to savour the best of Bulgogi Brothers' new creations, and indulge in succulent premium handmade beef patties, served thick and juicy on a toasted charcoal bun. The best part was that all burgers came with hand-made crispy sweet potato chips.

Definately a burger for the kimchi lovers, and even for those who is okay with non-excessive kimchis, because the Kimchi Burger here does not have that overbearing Kimchi taste. Sinfully delicious, layered with mushrooms, lightly sauteed Kimchi and a perfectly seared handmade beef patty, the burger is indeed a mouthful of goodness. Sandwiched between two charcoal buns, I personally like the thick patties which give out a very meaty taste and flavour, as Bulgogi Brothers didn't skimp on the meat there.

#2 Bibimbap Burger - RM25.90

Inspired by Bibimbap, the popular Korean rice dish favourite which comprises of sauteed vegetables, egg and sliced meat, Bulgogi Brothers have created the Bibimbap burger. The burger features their home-made premium beef patty, topped with sprouts, carrots, zucchinis, and a sunny side up egg. The burger doesn't look like your average Bibimbap meal, but it sure tastes like it! Savour the famous dish's sauteed vegetables and stone pot goodness, minus the rice.

#3 Spicy Gwangyang Burger - RM25.90

My favourite burger for the night would be their Spicy Gwangyang Burger, being very spicy, making us perspire in between mouthfuls of tender sliced beef brisket drenched in their spicy barbecue-like Osam sauce. I must say, the beef itself had this heavenly like flavour, one which I could not get enough of. Garnished with button mushrooms and onions, along with slivers of melted American cheese, this is a must-try in my books.

#4 Unyang Burger - RM28.90

If you are a big eater, and have a penchant for good thick slabs of beef, then go for Bulgogi Brothers' Unyang Burger, a burger piled high with meat. A hefty delight of home-made premium beef patty, layered with American cheese, beef brisket in savoury sauce and garnished with crispy shredded potato sandwiched in a toasted charcoal bun, the Unyang Burger do offer a rather unique and nice combination of flavours.

The Burger Revolution menu will be available at all Bulgogi Brothers outlets in Malaysia from June 16th 2014 onwards, so be sure to check them out today!

  1. Not a fan of kimchi...and not into eggs fried using the ring. That leaves the last two. You think I should try the Gwangyang since it's your favourite?
