TGI Friday's Malaysia New Menu Launch

TGI Friday's recently introduced a fresh look for its new menu, which will feature fourteen additional selections from the kitchen with prices from RM17.90, starting May 19th 2014 at every outlet nationwide. I had the opportunity to sample some of the fourteen new dishes the other day, so here's my writeup on my take of the dishes.

Focusing on creating a symphony of flavors, Friday's is introducing two new Starters - the scrumptious BBQ Beef Taco Stack and the crispy loaded Chip Nachos. The Loaded Chip Nachos came with melted cheese and beef bacon crumbles, stacked in a bowl and smothered in white cheddar queso. The cheese itself was served hot, literally melting around the fork when it's pulled. Garnished with more beef bacon crumbles, colby cheese and green onions on top, this is a great dish to start off any meal at TGIF.

#2 BBQ Beef Taco Stack

Toasted savory corn cakes, filled with beef bacon and green onion is the major ingredient of the next starter dish to arrive at our table, the BBQ Beef Taco Stack. Topped with braised BBQ beef, monterey jack cheese, fresh Tex Mex slaw, pickled onions, this dish is pretty good if you like a savoury starter. My personal preference is still leaning towards the nachos chips.

#3 Hibachi Chicken Skewers - RM25.90

The Hibachi Chicken Skewers came on a platter with the accompanying fresh beans and brocoli blends, and grilled pita. The chicken breast meat itself tasted pretty good, as its marinated in garlic soy sauce with a miso glaze. I still prefer chicken thigh meat to be used, but these were pretty tender.

#4 Honey Pecan Salmon - RM47.90
#4 Honey Pecan Salmon - RM47.90

My favourite new dish of the night would definately be their Honey Pecan Salmon. Fire grilled, 7 spice seasoned salmon fillet was used, but what really stood out in my opinion is the pecan honey butter and sponnfuls of glazed pecan toppings. Crunchy, savoury, and sweet, these would be how I would describe this yummy dish.

#5 Miami Cubano Chicken Stack - RM47.90

Up next, the Miami Cubano Chicken Stack was a tad too exotic for my palatte. Two lightly breaded, crispy chicken breasts was stacked high with shredded Mozzarella, sliced turkey ham and stir fried mushrooms drizzled with lemon cream sauce and garnished with a fresh tomato basil mix. I could not really make out any distinct flavour, but the tomatoes and lemon cream sauce did come through.

#6 Wild Mushroom Farfalle - RM19.90
#6 Wild Mushroom Farfalle - RM19.90

Consisting of a mix of healthy veggies and cheesy delight, introducing the Wild Mushroom Farfalle. One spoonful of the mix of fresh crimini, shiitake, and button mushrooms sauteed with farfalle pasta, arugula, fresh Parmesan, and I could literally taste the various mushroom flavours in the mouth.

#7 Cowboy Triple Meat Burger - RM35.90

Always a fan of nice burgers, the Cowboy Triple Meat Burger came looking as good as it tasted. The pieces of slow-cooked BBQ beef is tender enough, with melted Colby cheese and roasted beef bacon piled high with horseradish sauce and crispy frizzled onions. Love the beef patty, not so the buns which tasted a tad too dry and not buttery enough.

#8 Chipotle Yucatan Chicken Salad - RM29.90

Avocado lovers should definately try the Chipotle Yucatan Chicken Salad. Almost each bite had generous servings of avacado, with the roasted pulled chicken breast seasoned with garlic oregano and blackening spices.

#9 Two high Carrot Cake - RM18.90

#10 Oreo Stack - RM17.90
#10 Oreo Stack - RM17.90

To end a very filling meal at TGI Fridays, we were served with their new additions of desserts, namely the Oreo Stack and the Carrot Cake. I love cheese cakes, so when presented with the Oreo Stack which consists of double layered brownie sandwich white chocolate cheesecake, it literally made me smile.
