Service Your Vehicle @ KIA Service Centre For Chinese New Year

Chinese New Year is just around the corner, and the exodus back to hometown has begun. Everybody has either started or is going to head back in time for the celebrations. Now any long journey can be dangerous if our vehicle has not been checked or serviced recently, hence I was at the nearest KIA Service Centre a couple of days back in Setapak for my 60,000 km service in preparation of the journey back.

On top of the need to service my KIA Forte, I took advantage of one of the privileges of servicing my car at KIA service centre. One of it would be the complimentary Multi-point inspection which will be done every time we bring in our vehicles for service. A quick check with the folks from KIA educated me a bit more on what the Multi-point inspection actually means. Bring your car in now, and you will get a free full car check up, meaning they will do a full check up on your car on what part is damaged or needs to be changed, so you will only pay for the parts you change Check out the checklist below, which is rather comprehensive.

Why do I say the KIA Multipoint Inspection is comprehensive? Well for starters, on top of the usual exterior vehicle inspection and tyre inspection, the multi point inspection checklist includes checking the automatic transmission fluid level, brake fluid level, brake line, steering linkages, and so many more. Oh while we are at this point, one of the other reasons I sent my car in for servicing was also due to the really interesting KIA's Chinese New Year commercial, three variations of it actually which I have included in this post.

For more clarity, I have taken the liberty of listing down the inspection checklist that will be done by the technicians when you send your vehicle in for servicing at the KIA Service Centre.
  • Automatic transmission fluid level
  • Brake fluid level
  • Coolant recovery reservoir level
  • Power steering fluid level
  • Engine oil level
  • Window washer fluid
  • Battery performance and terminals
  • Brake line / hoses / parking brake
  • Clutch operation (if required)
  • Drive axle boots (if required)

One of the reasons why I love to bring my KIA Forte to this specific KIA Service Centre in Setapak was the fact that they have one of the most comfortable waiting lounge with a view of our vehicles being serviced. Located on the second floor of the service centre, they have these comfy sofas, LCD TV, fully air conditioned, and even free high speed wifi internet for me to finish up some work while waiting for my car to be serviced.

While I was there, I noticed that KIA has introduced further privileges which comes with servicing our cars at KIA Service Centres. One of it worth mentioning here would be KIA's 'Vehicle Hand Over' policy. In this policy, the owner is paired with a KIA service staff from day one. This means every time to KIA service center, the same service staff will attend to you. This way, it ensures that I will always be informed and updated on everything with regards to the servicing and maintenance of my car.

Oh did I mention that the Setapak KIA Service Centre have these complimentary food and drinks for you to enjoy in the lounge? It is a very nice touch, as I appreciate the steps taken to ensure our comfort while waiting. On top of the nasi lemak and hot milo, we have a choice of biscuits, and hot coffee as well. The refreshments differ from one KIA Service Centre to the other though.

Yet another privilege of servicing our vehicles at the KIA Service Centre would be the free car wash that comes after every service. Now I do like the car wash given at Setapak KIA Service Centre as the car wash guys really take the extra effort to ensure your car is clean inside and outside. Having a white car, and keeping it shiny and clean is undoubtedly one of the hardest part of owning one, hence I always appreciate any chance I get to give it a good wash.

Being an owner of a KIA Forte for the past 1 year or so, I do appreciate the services and extra privileges that the KIA Service Centre offers. Of course, I am not able to service it outside to avoid my vehicle warranty being voided, so it's a plus that the official KIA Service Centre has all these extra privileges and facilities. I leave you with yet another variation of the interesting KIA's Chinese New Year commercial video below.

Now the question is, have you serviced your car yet for the long trip back to your hometown for this Chinese New Year holidays? If you own a KIA vehicle, take this chance to do your service at any of the KIA Service Centres nationwide today itself!
