Furby Boom: A New Generation Is Hatching By Hasbro

Electronic toys are all the rage in recent times. But what do you get when you marry a concept of little furry cute toys and throw in some high tech innovations into it? Introducing the Furry Boom toy for children aged 6 and above, by Hasbro. I had the opportunity to review this cute little thing courtesy of Wilson from placesandfoods.com, taking the extra effort to pass it to me the other day.

The moment I got my hands on this toy, I shared out a picture of it over my various social media channels, and got multiple feedbacks on it. Some already have it, some want it, but the majority actually said it looks really cute. The interesting part was, Furby doesn't only capture the interest of kids, adults too, are intrigued by this electronic toy.

Easily available via the Toys R Us chain, and major stores, its not surprising that Furby's getting all the hype and attention recently. Hasbro does make the coolest toys around, as can be shown from this electronic cutesy Furby. The packaging itself was really colourful, with more than four different coloured Furbys to choose from. I chose the blue coloured Furby for Baby Martin.

Good morning Furby, wake up !

Marketed as a toy that has a mind of its own, Furby reminds me of my childhood era where we used to play with the "tamagotchi" toy. A creation from Hasbro Toy Malaysia, Furby is as close to a real pet you would want. ” Just like a real pet, you can feed, it, shower it, or even take it to the bathroom. How that is done is via a downloadable free application to our smartphone. The physical Furby however, is really interactive, responding differently to your every touch, pokes, and sounds.

Throw in four alkaline batteries, and Furby whirs and comes alive in front of you. Yawning, making funny sounds, you can start interacting with it immediately upon power up. The new Furby Boom blurs the line between physical and digital play for a unique educational experience. Interact with your Furby Boom 1 on 1 to shape its personality, and then hatch and raise digital Furby Furblings together in the Furby Boom app.

Go virtual, feed and interact with Furby both online and in real life

I was told this is the new generation of Furbys, one which not only interacts with you physically, but with the use of the smartphone application, they work together for a complete digital pet experience. It can even hatch virtual Furbling friends in the form of colorful eggs so that children can have more friends and more friends to play with. Furby Boom owners and their Furby Boom can then feed, play and interact with the virtual Furblings which are hatched.

Although the toy isn't meant for a baby as young as Baby Martin, he can still enjoy the sound, colours and texture of Furby. Our Furby started of by speaking Furbish, which sounded really cute, and as it grows up with constant feeding, and care, more of its speech becomes legible. When Furby grows, it's command of the English language grows along with it.

So what's my take on this new-gen Furby? Well, if you have kids who are into tech gadgets, get one for your kids now and with this, they can learn how to take care of the little Furby as a pet and enjoy the process.
