International Baby Expo (IBEX) 2013 KLCC

Another year has passed. I still remember the last International Baby Expo (IBEX) 2012 KLCC which I went last year, before baby Martin was born. This time around at the International Baby Expo (IBEX) 2013 KLCC, Baby Martin is already 11 months old. Every time I head there's any baby, motherhood, or kids expo in town, I will make it a point to attend to check out bargain items.

The doors only opened at 10.30am, hence we had to wait for a good 30 minutes because Janice and I actually arrived at 10am. We weren't the earliest though, as a huge crowd of parents were already waiting outside for the doors to open up. The International Baby Expo (IBEX) 2013 KLCC is a two day event, which is currently still on-going today.

IBEX also stands out exclusively from the rest of the regular Baby Expositions in which it incorporates an impactful B2B Trade element in addition to the existing B2C opportunities. The primary goal of IBEX is to uncover the limitless and borderless business opportunities for many of the prospective trade buyers, besides lending a helping hand to international brands that are keen and interested in looking for local distributors.

One of the product exhibited this time around which caught my attention was this automated baby cradle shown above. It seems pretty high tech to me, with input for iPhone, and iPad for music to play out from. The gadget replicates the mum's movement while carrying the baby. "Bounce and sway" instead of "vibrate and swing" it says. At a cost of RM1.3k onwards, I'm not very sure if it's a good investment though.

They had exhibits from a variety of baby products and services, as categorized below.
  • Maternity & Children's Clothing and Accessories
  • Medical Biotechnology & Management of Infertility Services
  • Natural Nutrition Food for Weaning Babies & Organic Toddler Formula Products
  • Diaper, Furniture and Toy Retailers
  • Infant & Toddlers Safety Products
  • Breastfeeding & Mommy's Groups
  • Early Education Products
  • Fitness & Slimming Beauty Services

Having been to countless baby fairs already since before and after baby Martin was born, I personally do not see any difference between each fairs. This time around I only bought stuffs which will run out, pureen bottle liquid cleanser, some socks, breast milk storage bags, small small cute toys thingies.

Overall, I felt it was a pretty good expo, one which we could get some good bargains and prices for the consumable baby items. Do remember to drop by the International Baby Expo at KLCC today as it will be the last day. The expo runs from 15th November to 17th November 2013.
