Philips Aquatouch AT890: Shaver For The Modern Men? #Philips50Shaves

It has begun, the Philips 50 Shaves of The Modern Man, a review competition I have inadvertently dived into recently, which got me this ultra cool Philips Aquatouch AT890 Rechargeable Electric Shaver to use and fiddle with. Thanks to Philips Malaysia, 10 of us were invited to review and unfortunately compete with each other, so here's to some healthy competition!

This will run for the next month or so, be prepared for subsequent real-time experience of using my Philips Aquatouch Electric Shaver. As for now, this post shall serve as the unboxing and first impression of the device. Being passed the product with the cool blue box it came with, my first impression was "Whoa, now this is some nifty high tech gizmo, let's see how it stands"

For a background to my shaving habits, I do have rather high expectations on how close the shave must get, and that the blades have to be always sharp enough. My current shaver's brand shall not be named, but it is those blade type of shavers, which to me do really give a close cut shave, but it does give a cut or two occasionally.

My last experience with an electric shaver was back in high school, and it wasn't a good one because the darn thing could not shave close enough to my skin. So yeah, I do have a really high expectation when it comes to trying out this Philips Aquatouch AT890 electric shaver.

The unboxing of my Philips Aquatouch AT890 was done rather quickly, with the usual warranty cards, wall charger, and the product itself included inside. It was a good thing they provided this small pouch for the shaver so we could actually use it when travelling or on the move. Now what strikes me as being great was the size of the shaver itself, it actually felt really solid and fitted perfectly into my grubby hands.

The triple blades of the Philips Aquatouch AT890 did look really intimidating on first glance. It is an electric wet/dry razor which is fully waterproof that gives us the ability to use it in the shower or on the go. That means no such thing as getting those small electric shocks. Another really cool feature of the shaver was that the blades would do no harm to the skin, which shall be proven in my subsequent posts.

It was a good thing the review unit I was given had some charge in it, which I immediately put to good use. Flicked it on, and round and round it went around the contours of my chin. First impression counts, and I was really impressed with the fact the blades were harmless, and that it actually gave me a smooth shave within only 10 seconds.

What's next, wait up for my full review on this gadget, but in the mean time, I have been trying to leave my facial hairs longer in order to fully test out the capabilities of the Philips Aquatouch AT890. Do not be surprise if you see me around looking really messy with my facial hair and all.

Here's me giving the thumbs up, here's to more facial hair and shaving it all off with the Philips Aquatouch AT890

Oh wait, there's this Voting thing too. Remember when I told you this was a competition of sorts? So do help to click on the "Vote" button below and it would really help me lots. Thanks so much in advance and do look out for a more comprehensive review to come, complete with videos of me trying it out on my coarse facial hair.
