Svago & Limoncello Pre-Opening Hard Hat Party

A Hard Hat Party? Now this is rather new to me, as I'm pretty used to attending restaurant new launches when everything is already set up and ready to serve. The other night, I was at Svago & Limoncello Pre-Opening Hard Hat Party, which was a rather unique experience altogether. The two latest dining concepts to be introduced to Suria KLCC, Svago & Limoncello opened their doors to us to show their "work-in-progress".

Svago & Limoncello Pre-Opening Hard Hat Party
Date: Wednesday 24th October 2012
Venue: Suria KLCC (Lakeside - to the left of Starbucks)

"Limoncello, an Italian-inspired bistro, located on the external ground floor corner facing KLCC Lake and the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, offers contemporary and casual all-day dining. With Italian favourites such as al trachio, large slab pizza with traditional toppings, as well as individual made-to-order Italian wood fired pizza, a selection of great Italian cold cuts, cheeses, panini, pasta, risotto and other all-time favourites, Limoncello will be a great chill out place to hang with friends, family, hold business discussions, or simply people watch over a glass or three of wine."

"Svago, located directly above Limoncello, following the sweeping stairwell upstairs, represents a finer dining restaurant - a menu elevated to the next level to suit diners preferences and interests. The menu is not an extensive one - the focus on freshness. Offering a variety of fresh fish and live seafood, prepared using different cooking styles – for example, a simple grilled lobster, or a lobster thermadore. A selection of beef cuts plus choice of cooking style, eg; aromatica, rosinni (using ribeye rather than fillet), showcases mouthwatering Italian cuisine the way you want it. Svago intends to raise the bar on great value, delicious dining, with the dining experience it offers."

Arriving at the venue way too late due to the heavy downpour and traffic jam, I missed a huge chunk of the presentation and explanation of the concept and restaurant. Nevertheless, it's always good to have press releases, as I could find out more on the upcoming plans for these 2 restaurants, Svago and Limoncello.

With several distinct ambient spaces, Svago’s main dining area faces both the KLCC lake and the Mandarin Oriental. Floor to ceiling windows, with multiple balconies opening to overlook the lake, Svago also contains a wine bar / lounge to relax for a drink before dinner, or simply chitchat with friends whilst taking in the view. A private dining area also has its own balcony, offering seclusion from the world, yet letting guests step out to view fountains, mature trees, and watch the world slowly saunter by.

Limoncello and Svago, the two new concept restaurants created by the OuttoDine Group who I found out to be the ones behind the popular Italian restaurant Spasso Milano, and German Bistro Weissbrau (both at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur and Straits Quay Penang). Here's to the completion of the restaurants next month, so be sure to look out for my writeup when Svago & Limoncello is launched!
