The All New Nissan Almera 2012

Cars may not appear too often here, but believe me, I'm in love with so many cars that I find it hard to choose my future car. Anyway today's writeup will be on the all new Nissan Almera which was recently announced by Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM) here in Malaysia.

The Nissan Almera promises to be a car which give consumers surprisingly more than they expect with features and technologies that are usually found in more premium cars. These include class leading cabin space, true keyless entry, Push Start button ignition and auto climate control air conditioning.

The price has not been announced yet, but it will be ranging from RM70k - RM85k, which will give the competing car brands a run for their money. Competitively priced is one thing, the features on this car were pretty good. Almera will be powered by the HR15DE engine, a 1,498 cc, four-cylinder DOHC with CVTC unit that produces 102 PS at 6,000 rpm and 139 Nm at 4,000 rpm. The two current choices of transmission available are, a five-speed manual and a four-speed automatic.

From the little that I gathered, the Nissan Almera will come in three different variants, E, V and VL with the E variant being the lowest grade. The order books actually opened since 6th of September at all Nissan branches, so if you are interested to find out more do drop by their branches today.

Some of the key features include this

"The footprint of the new car isn’t much different from the Latio – the 1,695 mm width is unchanged while the Almera’s 4,426 mm length is up by 11 mm. Wheelbase remains at 2,600 mm, which is a good 50 mm longer than that of the Toyota Vios. The Latio was the Peter Crouch in its class; the Almera is less lanky by 21 mm, but still dwarfs over classmates Vios and Honda City. "

Others features include steering audio control and fine vision meter with multi-information display (MID) as well as the auto climate control air-conditioning. The all-new Nissan Almera will be available in both 1.5L automatic and manual transmission to deliver responsive performance with outstanding fuel economy.

Check out more about Nissan Almera from the official website below.

Also check out the video about the latest Nissan Almera linked here. (There are various videos from various countries introducing the New Nissan Almera 2012).  I'm rather excited on the prospect of actually seeing this car on the road and test driving it.
