Twenty.One Tables + Terrace BSC

Bangsar Shopping Centre houses some really exclusive and good restaurants, one of them being Twenty. One Tables & Terrace located on level 3 of the shopping mall. I had the chance to try out Twenty. One's upcoming unique Christmas menu dishes the other day with a couple of friends and it did leave a rather good impression.

Twenty.One Tables
Twenty.One's comfortable ambience and decor
It was my first time over at Twenty. One, and I must say the place has a really classy look to it. Coupled with a windowed terrace view out where patrons can dine with a view, Twenty. One does look the part of a great chill out place after a long day's work. I observed that Twenty. One has taken great lengths to ensure their customers have the best seats, view and food.

The Christmas Menu "Jingle My Bells"
We were there for their Christmas menu, and with a tagline that reads "Jingle My Bells", I can already feel the Christmas spirit. The 3 course set menu comes with a starter, one main dish, and dessert. Even these had names to them, "Santa's Little Helpers", "Fill My Stocking" and "Mistletoe Kisses", talk about high Christmas enthusiasm from Twenty. One Tables & Terrace.

The 3 Course Christmas Set Menu
For starters, we were served with the "Santa's Little Helpers" which was a choice of either the warm asparagus salad with duck proscuitto, poached quail egg & hollandaise, or the Creamed brussel sprout soup with handmade turkey meatballs.

Now the duck proscuitto was a pretty new dish for me, and requires an acquired taste for the duck. It was seasoned well though. Anyway, I was told this was a traditional christmas dish. The creamed brussel sprout soup with handmade turkey meatball however tasted rather good, a healthy soup indeed. I liked how the turkey meatballs turned out, and wanted more actually as four was not enough for me!

We were then served with the main course "Fill My Stockings" for the night, which was the Oven baked sliced turkey breast with yam croquette, chicken sausage, edamame bean & caramelised cranberry.

The dish came with yam croquette
Now I was pleasantly surprised with the good taste, as there were so many ingredients mixed in. I mean, it's not often you get to taste beans, cranberries, yam and chicken sausages all inside a turkey dish. The turkey was good though, and very filling as the dish served generous thick slices of turkey breast.

Desserts "Mistletoe Kisses" came next, which was again a choice of either the banana bread pudding or the chrissy pudding. Both of these were rather filling, so if you're not full yet from the first 2 course, the dessert will definitely fill you up.

Overall it was a good meal, and if you're at Twenty. One from 5 to 8pm, they have their Happy Hour promotion so there's a 1 for 1 promotion for all loose drinks. Do check out this place should you happen to drop by Bangsar Shopping Centre, as the Christmas set meal promotion will be on-going throughout the month of December.

Happy Feet 2 (2011)

Happy Feet 2, the sequel to the first Happy Feet animation movie which came out in 2006 which captured the hearts of kids and parents worldwide, is out now in the cinemas. Expecting a feel good movie, I caught Happy Feet 2 the other day over at TGV Cinemas, Wangsa Walk Mall. I was not disappointed.

Happy Feet 2!

This round, Happy Feet 2 tells of Mumble (Elijah Wood), the main character of the original Happy Feet who is now happily married to the beautiful and talented lady penguin Gloria (Alicia Moore) who sings really well. They have this really cute son named Erik (Ava Acres) who like his father was a bit of the shy type and outcasted by his Emporer Penguin clan because of a failed first attempt to dance. Erik is one spunky kid, who never gives up even when the going gets tough.

Penguins everywhere, waddle waddle waddle

We then see the shift in Earth's climate causing the giant icebergs to collide and move causing a disaster where Erik's clan is stuck in a large crater with no way out. There was no way to get to the sea for fishes, causing panic to everyone there. Of course, this is when our heroes come in, with Mumble and his son Erik going everywhere looking for help.

That's the cute Erik

A lot of new characters were introduced into Happy Feet 2, from the Elephant Seals, to the cutesy small tiny krills Will (Brad Pitt) and Bill (Matt Damon). Bill and Krill really added humour when we see them in every scene, except they're too tiny to be noticed by the penguins. It was akin to watching a mini movie in the big picture of Happy Feet 2.

Will and Bill having the adventure of their lifes
Another new character being brought into the movie was this unique flying "penguin" Sven (Hank Azaria) from Svenland who not only flies, but have this rather cocky attitude of Sven thinking. We do see him doing his best in helping the penguins at the end though.

Overall, this movie was a feel good movie through and through. If you have a bad day, and would like to have some laugh with lot of positive spirit, do check Happy Feet 2 out. I rather liked this movie, as I liked the original Happy Feet. I'm not very good in ratings, but personally I'll rate this a 7.5/10. The movie is rather short though, or probably I felt it was short since it was enjoyable.

Johnnie Walker Black Circuit Brazil

Johnnie Walker Black Circuit Brazil, an exclusive by invitation only event happened last night, and I was fortunate enough to get some invites thanks to JFook. I was at the Johnnie Walker Black Circuit Lounge earlier this year in April , and it was really good hence my expectations for this one was pretty high. This round, the event everyone was anticipating happened at KL Live, the latest hot spot in town for clubbing events.

So there I was, reaching pretty early in the night at around 8pm, way before the party even started. The crowd was just beginning to gather at the entrance of KL Live. After a quick dinner over at TGI Fridays I returned to see everyone already queuing up at the registration counter. Johnnie Walker took effort to transform the usually bare KL Live into the exclusive party event it's meant to be.

We had beautiful ladies explaining some registration, games, and stuffs to us outside before entering
It was all rather grand and all, with Johnnie Walker's colours of Black and Gold seen everywhere. Even the outfits of the Johnnie Walker promoter ladies were in black and gold as well. I managed to catch up with some bloggers (Wilee, Melissa, Kah Mon, and Jiayeen) who were working as the crew before entering. They looked rather cool in party dresses holding their cameras.

Entering the dance floor, we were presented with some performances to liven up the night. I've been to KL Live for many occasions recently, but I've never seen it as nice as it was that night. Johnnie Walker actually took the effort to carpet the whole floor. Music blaring, with free flow of Johnnie Walker's Black Label at each table, the party had just started.

You can't go wrong with this, free flow of it makes the night better!
The party however started quite poorly, as the songs weren't really good enough to warm up the crowd. Either that, or the crowd last night were too exclusive to go crazy. It wasn't until way past midnight that everyone started warming up. I was pretty disappointed as I had really high expectations of this party coming out from the big one Johnnie Walker did in April. Anyway, do catch some of the few photos I managed to capture that night.

There you have it, the exclusive party Johnnie Walker event that happened at KL Live last night. I had expected much more, but overall it was good fun. Here's to more happening Johnnie Walker events, drink up and keep walking! Oh, here comes the mandatory safety message, "Never Drink and Drive".

Coffee Chemistry Cafe opened their new signature branch over in First Subang Mall, SS15 and it's a pretty classy place. Named Coffee Chemistry Signature, the ambience and decor is perfect for a comfortable meal, or folks to just chill out. Since this was a bloggers gathering of sorts, the atmosphere today was filled with chatters and laughters with lots of cameras clicking. I found the ambience of Coffee Chemistry Signature really nice, and suited the occasion really well. We had the owners Johnson Tay, and Ryan present to serve us, which was pretty cool. Anyway check out below on some of the dishes we ordered.

The prime new zealand breed Angus beef came medium rare, and suited my taste really well. Of course, I might try their Wagyu beef steak the next time I come around.

Aladdin The Musical "Meet The Cast" Session

Aladdin The Musical premieres tonight over at the Amphitheater, Sunway Lagoon where we get to see the stories of Aladdin, Princess Jasmine, the Genie, and their flying carpet being brought to life in a musical. Last week, I had the opportunity to catch the casts that's going to perform in Aladdin The Musical at a "Meet the cast" session over in Sunway Lagoon. It was pretty cool, as this was a rare opportunity to get up, close and personal with the performers and dancers.

Anyway, so there I was getting all hyped up over the prospect of catching some dance moves from these really talented dancers and performers. It's like having a behind the scenes moment of a blockbuster movie, and the feeling was just great. We were ushered into Aladdin The Musical's dance studio, where the producer and choreographer welcomed us to catch a real time "first act" musical performance.

Melodic voices, beautiful dance moves, and comical acting, all played out in front of us!
It was pretty cool, being able to catch the guy behind Aladdin, the beautiful lady playing Princess Jasmine, the really comical Genie, as well as the tall and evil dude playing Jafar the villain. It was so much fun and I didn't hesitate to record some video from that afternoon. Check these two videos below, and you'll get a glimpse on what to expect from this awesome musical.

I did manage to get a photo with a couple of the casts of Aladdin The Musical as well. They were really friendly, and really very obliging. Imagine being bombarded with questions and requests for photos by more than 30 bloggers, and you'll get an idea of how chaotic the scene can be. But it was all good fun, as everyone had a blast that afternoon.
