Image
Come this April 9th 2011, one really happening and exclusive event is coming to town. Johnnie Walker the world's leading Scotch whisky is bringing this V-VIP race party here to KL! The coolest part is this party will showcase Formula One which is a stylish and sophisticated sport with Johnnie Walker's involvement. Check out some of the happening photos from last year's party. Happening ladies at the Black Circuit Lounge VVIPs with Johnnie Walker's Car. This brings me to the question of what I've done to deserve the rewards of luxury and a successful lifestyle. Now how would you think I'll answer that? Check it out below. Well, over the years, my parents have taught me the golden rule of never giving up and always persevering through rough waters. This I've taken to heart and throughout my career in the engineering field as well as my alter ego as a blogger, I've never given up even when the going gets tough.  As an engineer, I'll make it

Venetian Carnival Masks

What do you know about these Venetian Carnival Masks , if you're not sure of what it is, welcome to the club! Until now, I'm really not well versed with these masks, and decided to do a little digging up on it from the web. One search from Google got me a pages upon pages of these beautiful elaborately decorated masks which sort of reminded me of Opera shows, and also those wild masked parties. Venetian Carnival Mask

Hop Movie Premiere Screening

Image
Candies, candies and more candies! The Easter Bunny is here, and I was privileged enough to catch the movie screening of Hop courtesy of Nuffnang. Thanks to Eli , who passed me her tickets I was at E Curve to catch the premiere. Hop Movie @ Cathay Cinema E Curve As usual before any Nuffnang's premiere screenings, I'll try my best to catch some bloggers to have dinner, this time at Kim Gary's Restaurant. About 12 of us were there having a wonderful dinner before proceeding to collect the tickets at 8.30pm. The movie started at 9.30pm. Tickets for Hop Screening Collection The 2 lovely Ms Ticket Issuers , Ms Thara and Ms Fresh Something unusual happened while collecting our tickets. 2 very formal man and woman in black with suitcases were distributing some weird fliers to Nuffnang bloggers. It was interesting how they behave, like some secret agent of sorts. The fliers that they gave out were rather confusing and these guys did not talk at all.The fliers were

A Cooler Room With Panasonic

Image
Okay, I'm pretty sure most of you have an aircond somewhere in the house, probably a couple of air conds. As for me, getting an air conditioning unit for the first time is a really big step. Not life changing, but definately a more comfortable change. Since young, I did not have the pleasure to enjoy an air conditioned room. Recently the hot weather had been really getting to me, so I decided to splurge on an air conditioner for my room. The model that I went for? It was a Panasonic 1.5HP CS-S13MKH unit. My new room fixture This particular Panasonic model comes with an inverter which is said to be able to save the electricity costs by at least 40% compared to a standard air cond. I'll explain on the inverter portion in a while further down. A quick check from the manual and online specs educated me on some of the cool functions integrated in the aircond. Image
Thanks to Kian Fai for organizing a short get together over dinner, a few of us gathered at SS14 PJ to have dinner at this coffeeshop serving Hokkien Noodles, before going off to have this wonderful Mille Crepe Cakes at Food Foundry. I reached the coffee shop slight late to see 5 of my blogger friends already seated at the table, namely Carmen, Tony, Shiok Leng, Kian Fai, and Elwyn. Upon 10 minutes after ordering, food was served. Check out below what we had for dinner that night. Be reminded this was before the heavenly Mille Crepe Cakes eating session. Popiah - RM1.70 / roll Wa Tan Hor Hokkien Char / Noodles Chicken Satay - Rm 0.60/stick It was a good dinner, but the best was yet to come. At around 8pm, we adjourned to our next "Makan" destination which was the Food Foundry. Jogoya Japanese Restaurant Dinner Buffet

Image
Jogoya Japanese Buffet , I've heard of this place from my colleagues over the years, but I've never had the opportunity to enjoy the cuisines there until last week when my bosses treated us to a dinner buffet. Upon hearing we're going to have a complimentary japanese buffet dinner at Jogoya, I was like "yeah baby!" Front counter

I Love 5S!

Image
If you're in any manufacturing company or factory, or any company for that matter, I'm sure you would have heard of the term 5S before. 5S workplace organization methodology to be exact. For the uninitiated, well here's a quick definition of 5S as defined by Mr Wikipedia. 5S is the name of a workplace organization methodology that uses a list of five Japanese words which are seiri, seiton, seiso, seiketsu and shitsuke. Transliterated or translated into English, they all start with the letter "S". My new locker Sticker! In a nutshell, below I'll explain what every "S" stands for. Don't mind me, I just felt like doing some knowledge sharing once in a blue moon, and today it so happens that the moon is kind of blue'ish. 1S = "Seiri" = Sort  Simply put, the foundation for 5S is this one, every item in our workplace has to be segregated from the needed and the unnecessary. This also means, when we're doing 1S,

Otak Otak Place Tropicana Mall

Image
I had the chance to savor some nice Malaysian food from this eatery in Tropicana Mall the other day. It was just before the premiere screening of Battle LA . Otak Otak Place, direct translation from Bahasa Malaysia to English would have given us Brain's Place! Anyway, its not brains, but the Otak otak here stands for this delicious fish cake. A quick check for Otak Otak online gives me this definition:  "Otak-otak is a fish cake wrapped inside banana leaf. It can be found throughout Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia." Otak-Otak Place with malaysian kampung decor Otak Otak Place is located at Lot L1-58, 1st Floor of Tropicana City Mall in Petaling Jaya. You won't miss it because the front of the shop is really quite interesting with the hanging bicycle and all. Also there's this big wordings Otak Otak which you definately won't miss!  From the front One of the first thing that strikes me as being unique the moment I sat down to order was the menu.

Sucker Punch Premiere Screening

Image
Omg, no matter what people say about this movie, after watching it, I like it. No, not for the storyline, maybe slightly for the 3D-ish fight scenes, but I like it for the artistic flair and fluidity of the camera and colors of this movie! It felt like an art show on display with the camera panning, and the colors, sometimes vivid, sometimes pale. The movie sort of reminded me of "300" for the art, "Inception" for the storyline, and "Resident Evil" for the 3D fantasy fight scenes! Sucker Punch! Anyway I got this free movie screening thanks to Nuffnang , and it was held at GSC 1 Utama. This time around, I was pretty late for the dinner with bloggers before the movie due to unforeseen circumstances. But I did manage to crash in during the final 20minutes of the dinner. Special thanks to Jayren for helping me collect my tickets from the counter at 8pm. We had dinner together with my favourite gang of bloggers, and I'm glad I managed to meet a fe

Morning Glory Special Screening

Image
This evening I had the chance to attend a complimentary special screening of the movie Morning Glory courtesy of TimeOut KL . It was held at Cathay Cinema at e@Curve at 9.30pm. Upon getting to know I got the tickets, I did a quick check on the movie. 2 names popped up, Harrison Ford and Diane Keaton. Wait, Harrison Ford, in a comedy? This I have to watch, I thought to myself then. Movie Poster Tickets courtesy of Time Out KL Ticket redemption counter Coming from the same writer that wrote "The Devil Wears Prada", this movie is of a similar genre. This time it's a romantic comedy set in the hilarious world of morning television. We have this workaholic producer Becky Fuller (Rachel McAdams) freshly fired from her previous job due to downsizing, having a really low point in her life career wise and relationship wise. Then she got this new job at "Daybreak", a morning television program with declining ratings and on the verge of being cancelled. Swe
