Of Satay, Hokkien Noodles, Mille Crepes Cakes and Food Foundry

Thanks to Kian Fai for organizing a short get together over dinner, a few of us gathered at SS14 PJ to have dinner at this coffeeshop serving Hokkien Noodles, before going off to have this wonderful Mille Crepe Cakes at Food Foundry.

I reached the coffee shop slight late to see 5 of my blogger friends already seated at the table, namely Carmen, Tony, Shiok Leng, Kian Fai, and Elwyn. Upon 10 minutes after ordering, food was served. Check out below what we had for dinner that night. Be reminded this was before the heavenly Mille Crepe Cakes eating session.

Popiah - RM1.70 / roll
Wa Tan Hor
Hokkien Char / Noodles
Chicken Satay - Rm 0.60/stick

It was a good dinner, but the best was yet to come. At around 8pm, we adjourned to our next "Makan" destination which was the Food Foundry. Food Foundry is actually located at Section 17, on the ground floor of this apartment Happy Mansion to be exact.

Numerous blog posts have been made about this place and its famous Mille Crepes Cakes. A quick check on Wikipedia gave me the defination of Mille Crepes as below.

A crêpe is a type of very thin pancake. Mille crêpe is a French cake made of many crêpe layers. "Mille" ("mil") means "a thousand", implying the many layers of crêpe.

We ordered 4 different type of flavored Mille Crepes, namely Mango, Strawberry, Chocolate and Vanilla Crepe. The prices for this place weren't exactly cheap, akin to Starbucks pricing, which to me is a bit overpriced due to the fact Food Foundry is located in a housing area. Anyway, that's just me, probably the price is justified by the unique Mille Crepes they offer.

Strawberry Mille Crepe Cake - RM 9
Vanilla Mille Crepe Cake - RM 9
Chocolate Mille Crepe Cake - RM 9

Kudos to Food Foundry for making such a delicious cake. The cake itself was really moist and we could actually taste the different layers. I tried counting the layers but lost count after 10 or so layers. No wonder people still come back for more each day. Food Foundry do serve other dishes such as pasta, and the normal western offerings.

Overall it was good fun, and I really enjoyed having fun talking with these great folks. We had a great time just chatting and sharing knowledge, all over drinks and mille crepe cakes. Priceless I tell you.
