Sunway Carnival Mall

I think the bulk of my chinese new year was spent window shopping at nearly all of the shopping malls in  Penang. Well, today I had something to attend to at mainland Penang, so after settling it, I dropped by one of the "new" shopping malls at Seberang Perai, Penang. Sunway Carnival Mall is new in a sense that its less than 5 years I suppose, and everything in the mall smells and feels new.

There was a minor attraction at the centre court today. It was a live statue display. Somehow it reminded me of a mime, minus the robotic movements, just the sitting stationary part. Have a look below for the pictures I managed to capture.

Mr Statue

Mr Statue was cute in a sense that he does look the part. You couldn't even see he was really a person until you touch him, and he grabs you! Check out the angpows he collected in the basket in front of him.

The rest of my time in Sunway Carnival Mall was spent window shopping with some minor shopping done. I did manage to capture some pictures of the Chinese New Year decorations. Instead of going the old fashioned red themed way, Sunway Carnival Mall went for pink and cute stuffs!

The ever present lanterns

Overall, Sunway Carnival Mall is a rather happening mall across the bridge from Penang Island. I won't mind spending my time loitering here more often if I was staying nearby.

  9. Nice decorations. I have not been shopping a lot this year as I dread lugging my 2 active girls around.
BTW, thanks for your new year greeting in my blog.
HAPPY NEW YEAR to you and family too!
