Kuta Bali Dinner With Family

I reached my hometown, Penang today for the Chinese New Year holidays at around dinner time today. Oh, the feeling of seeing my parents was great. I do miss them a lot!

If you don't know yet, Kuta Bali is this popular makan spot in Farlim Penang, and it's a great food spot. It's actually named after a tourist spot in Indonesia. Anyway Kuta Bali Farlim is themed to imitate this tourist spot, this was where I went with my family to have our dinner tonight.

Kuta Bali Farlim
Have a look below for some pictures I took of the food we ordered. The place was huge, with more than 30 hawkers stalls from my observation. You could find all famous penang food here, from the fried kuey teow, to the asam laksa to the loh bak.

Penang Char Kuey Teow

What can I say, I truly enjoyed the kuey teow. Now I remember why I rarely order fried kuey teow in KL, the taste is simply not up to par with Penang's. Next up I went ahead to choose some loh bak (assorted deep fried meat). It was very tasty, but you can find this everywhere actually, even in KL.

Overall it was a good night, and I truly enjoyed the time spent with mum and dad, ok plus my brother too. Let's not leave him out! Took some photos together after that.

  6. Penang hawker food best lah! But that Bali place at Gurney Drive - people say not really that nice and a tourist trap - expensive. Dunno how true. Passed by often, never stopped to eat there.

Qong Xi Fa Cai to you and your family... Have fun.

P.S. You and your family only? No photo of you wife kah?

not sure about the one in gurney, there's a bali there as well? Is it beside gurney plaza? This Kuta Bali is in Air Itam, Farlim.

Happy Chinese New Year to you and your family too!!

p.s: the wife is with her family, she from the mainland, while I'm living on the island, hence her absence last night. :)
